Jeff Green: My mother told me that a good friend is like a mirror. I was quieter and more serious than other kids. That's why I like reading and study hard in class. My best friend Yuan Li is also very quiet and we like to study together. I'm very shy, so making friends is not easy for me. But I think friends are like books - you don't need a lot of them, just good ones.

Huang Lei: It doesn’t have to be the same. My best friend Larry and I are nothing like that. He is taller and more outgoing than me. We both like sports, but he is better at tennis, so he often wins. Nonetheless, he often helps me bring out the best in me. So I'm better at tennis now. Larry doesn't study very hard either, and I always get higher marks than him, so maybe I should help him more as well.

Mary Smith: I don’t care if my friends are the same as me or different. One of my favorite quotes is "A true friend is someone who reaches out to you and touches your heart." My best friend Carol is really kind and funny. In fact, she's funnier than anyone I know. I broke my arm last year, but she made me laugh and feel better. We can talk and share it all. I know she cares about me because she always listens to me.
