According to the survey, members' failure to fill in information truthfully (65.7%) and lax review of members' information (59.7%) are regarded as two major problems of dating platform. Other problems include high activity cost (37.3%), loose process, inadequate service (29.8%), information disclosure of participants (37.0%), false propaganda (33.9%) and inducing users to recharge (23.9%).
Liu Junhai, a professor at Renmin University of China Law School and vice president of China Consumers Association, pointed out that there are three main problems in the current dating platform. First, the information is untrue, inaccurate and incomplete. On the one hand, members are unwilling to provide true, accurate and complete information, on the other hand, the platform is unwilling to carefully review it. Second, many netizens lack self-protection awareness and are easy to trust the information and service promises on the platform. Third, many dating platforms make users think that the quality of website members is generally high by registering fake members.
