Before the establishment of Sukhothai Dynasty in 1238, there were some small countries in Siam, such as Akatu, Pan Pan and Lop Nur. Some of these countries are located above Siam, and some are located in the Krasia region in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula.
There are about 8.5 million Chinese in Thailand (in 2008), accounting for 12% of the total population, and a considerable part of them are from Chaoshan, Guangdong. As early as the establishment of the Sukhothai Dynasty in Siam (1238- 1378), Thailand became a vassal of China, paid tribute to China and maintained good relations with China. At that time, China and Thailand exchanged gifts, similar to trade; China allows Thailand to be tax-free, which makes Thailand profitable.
From the early years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1367), envoys from China went to China to pay tribute. They first appeared as generalists, such as Li Qing in the 5th year of Hongwu (1372), and in the 4th year of Hongwu 138 1. These Chinese have lived for many years and are proficient in Siam.
During the 13 and 14 centuries, the banks of Kela Isthmus were like awnings in spring, and China tin miners in Surat Thani had established a solid foundation in southern Thailand. At the same time, China pirate Lin Daogan and his entourage first attracted China people to do business with Liu Kun and other commercial ports. /kloc-in the 6th century, when the west tried to infiltrate southern Thailand, it could not stand the pursuit of officers and men, fled to the south and settled in Pattani, and married the local queen. Pattani gradually developed into a Chinese settlement.

They compete with Japanese and Portuguese for business in big cities. According to the records of French Ambassador to Ayutthaya Lauberg, there were about 3,000 to 4,000 people in China in the middle of17th century.
By the end of 17, the Chinese population in Thailand was about 10000, accounting for less than 10% of the total population. At that time, Taihua mostly came from Fujian and Guangdong commercial ports in South China and was a commercial immigrant.
China people are invincible in business. /kloc-in the 7th century, China people took advantage of King Tai's keen interest in trade to become agents of royal trade and gain benefits from it. King Thai treats Chinese as his own and gives them special treatment, so Chinese have the most advantage in the competition with European businessmen.
1766, Burmese troops besieged Ayutthaya, the capital, and China residents in the city bravely resisted the enemy and defended the city, playing a heroic role. After that, Zheng Zhao, a Chinese-Thai hybrid, led 500 people to break through, and in June of 1767+00, he led the army to recapture Ayutu City and established a dynasty that annexed Wu Li (1767- 1782). Zheng Zhao's father is Yongzheng, a Chaoshan native, whose ancestral home is Chenghai, Guangdong Province. After emigrating to Siam, he made a fortune. My mother is Thai. During Zheng Zhao's reign (1767- 1782), Chaoshan people were encouraged to flood into Thailand. Some of them are engaged in business, while others are engaged in reclamation and planting sugar cane and pepper for export. On the east bank of Chao Phraya River, near Wangcheng today, a new Chinese community began to appear.
The dynasty established after Zheng Zhao's death was due to the unprecedented prosperity of Thai royal trade, the participation of Chinese businessmen and the influx of immigrants. Rama I (1782- 1809) built a Chinese business district in the center of today's Chinatown in Bangkok. With the vigorous economic development in the1850s, the pace of Chinese immigrants has been accelerating. /kloc-In the first half of the 9th century, China businessmen poured into Thailand seasonally. In the second half of the year, organized prepaid ship tickets came into being, which led to a large influx of labor immigrants. By the end of 19, Chinese in Thailand had spread all over the country.
Most China people come from Guangdong and Fujian. At the beginning of the 20th century, Chaoshan people dominated, accounting for 40%, others such as Hainanese 18%, Hakka 16%, Fujian 16% and Guangfu 9%. Besides Zheng Zhao's love and chain migration, another important factor that Chaoshan people have the greatest advantage is that the ship sailing between Bangkok and South China started from Shantou, and a large number of Chaoshan people disembarked from here to Thailand.
