Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are called the same city derby; New york Knicks and New Jersey Nets are sometimes called the same city derby, and the two teams are separated by a river.

There are two Canadian teams in NBA, Vancouver Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors. Later, the Grizzlies moved to Memphis, USA.

Because the NBA is a business alliance after all, it is not surprising that Canadian teams join the league in order to expand their influence and maximize their interests. After years of development, the Toronto Raptors are only geographically different from other teams, and other rules are no different.
