Junior social workers are mainly engaged in grass-roots social work, intermediate social workers undertake some slightly complicated tasks, such as social policy formulation and social work project management, while senior social workers undertake more complicated social work tasks, and may hold some management positions or engage in research and teaching in professional institutions in the field of social work, while expert social workers have rich work experience and excellent professional ability in the field of social work, and have in-depth research and contribution to specific fields.

The classification of community workers is based on their work level and work experience. Social workers at different levels need to have different professional knowledge and skills and undertake different tasks.
