Yunmen Mountain is not high, and the stone steps up the mountain are not very steep. Along the way, you can see Guanshou Pavilion, Wangshou Pavilion Taoist Temple, Yunmen Cave, and the word "Shou" in sequence. Stone carvings and cloud cave statues. Most of the main attractions are concentrated on the top of the mountain. There is a viewing pavilion on the top of the mountain. When the weather is clear, you can have a panoramic view of the city. There is also a natural cave "Yunmen Cave" that runs from north to south on the mountain. At the turn of summer and autumn, clouds and mist often come out of the cave, like a fairyland.
Going through Yunmen Cave to the north, you can look up at the famous giant "Shou" character on the cliff at close range. This character is 7.5 meters high, and the "inch" part alone is more than two meters long. It is so high that if you stand under it, you will be in compliance with the saying "No one is as tall as you are" and you will look very small. This character was written by Ji Yang Zhouquan, the head of Prince Heng's Mansion during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. Since ancient times, many tourists have come here to pay homage to the character "Shou" for protection.
The stone niche statues in Yunmen Mountain are also very classic. Most of these statues are Buddhist statues such as Bodhisattvas, heavenly kings, and strong men. The carving skills are quite exquisite. There are five stone niches at the top of the mountain in Yunmen Mountain, with 272 stone statues. Some of them can be traced back to the Kaihuang period of the Sui Dynasty. Although they have been eroded by wind, rain and plundered by war for more than 1,400 years, many of them are still relatively intact.
There are many temples and Taoist temples on Yunmen Mountain. Among them, Wangshou Pavilion Taoist Temple, whose west wing is a place to worship the God of Wealth, is very popular. The "Tianxian Jade Girl Temple", an all-stone five-beam building from the Ming Dynasty on the top of the mountain, is still structurally intact and is worth a visit. 2.
