A survey report on the social ethics of college students
“Everyone is kind to himself, which is called private morality, and everyone who is kind to others is called public morality.” Speaking of social morality, let us first understand what is a fair life. Public life is relative to private life. The field of public life is gradually expanding with the continuous development of economy and society. This is an inevitable trend in the development of human society. In contemporary society where economic globalization is accelerating, public life has increasingly become an important part of the lives of social members. Social morality refers to the moral principles that citizens should abide by in social interactions and public life. Social morality covers the relationship between people, people and society, and people and nature, and is the basic level of the entire social moral system.
Purpose of investigation: To strengthen the construction of spiritual civilization and ideological and moral cultivation. College students have high cultural knowledge and scientific quality. They have become an important force in spreading awareness of social ethics and practicing social ethics in our country. They have an unshirkable responsibility to promote and maintain social ethics. Through investigation and research, we can understand the current situation of social ethics among contemporary college students, discover problems existing in college students' awareness of public ethics, and put forward suggestions on how to better spread awareness of public ethics, so as to create a harmonious society.
Survey format: On April 7, 2009, 210 students from two universities in Hunan (Hunan Normal University and Central South University) were randomly selected for investigation, of which 49.7 were boys and 50.3 were girls. The questionnaire recovery rate was 79.5, there were 167 valid questionnaires, and the effective rate was 100. The data were processed manually, and the statistical charts were drawn with EXCEL.
Survey content: A survey was conducted from three aspects: the attitude of college students in Changsha towards the relationship between people, the attitude towards the relationship between people and society, and the attitude towards the relationship between people and nature. The survey results are as follows:
1. Attitudes towards the relationship between people
In this survey, we used the following questions to examine college students’ attitudes towards the relationship between people. Research was conducted.
1. When taking a bus, would you give up your seat to the elderly, the young, the sick, the disabled and pregnant?
2. When you take a bus and you don’t have a seat, but you see the young people sitting there turning a blind eye to the old people and children around you, what will you do?
3. You will be in the study room Will you answer the phone loudly?
4. A migrant worker’s rights and interests have been infringed, but he doesn’t know how to protect them. If you happen to know this legal knowledge, you will
The investigation found that for question 1, there are More than 70% of students said they would definitely give in, 25% said it would depend on the situation, and only about 3% said they would not. It shows that most college students have a basic sense of public ethics. Depending on the situation, it may be because there are many people on the bus and your seat is far away from the elderly, so it is inconvenient to give up your seat to the elderly. Regarding question two, about 75% of the students just blamed the person for his lack of quality but took no action. About 5% of the students said they didn't care, and 15% of the students said they reminded the young people to give up their seats. It shows that most college students have a sense of public morality and at least express dissatisfaction with this kind of behavior, but the vast majority remain silent and lack the courage to uphold public morality; deeper exploration shows that private morality is still at play, fearing that others will not listen to advice and will make themselves worse. Embarrassing, or not knowing how to remind others in a tactful way; between public morality and private morality, most people still maintain public morality on the basis of maintaining private morality. Questions 4 and 5 also show this problem .
2. Attitudes towards the relationship between people and society
We mainly conducted research by investigating college students’ attention to social issues and their enthusiasm for participating in public welfare activities.
1. What is your attitude towards the national economy and people’s livelihood?
2. Have you ever taken the initiative to donate blood for free?
3. Have you ever used mobile phones or the Internet to spread obscene, violent and other harmful information?
The survey found that regarding the attitude towards the national economy and people’s livelihood, 57% of the students said that they occasionally read it and only understood what people around them were talking about; 40% of the students expressed great concern and learned about it through various channels; only 3% of the students said Don't care about anything that has nothing to do with yourself.
This shows that most students still care about social issues, but they do not take the initiative to understand them. Most of them get information from other people's casual discussions, and a very small number of students express no concern. When we investigated the situation of voluntary blood donation among college students, we learned that 36% of the students said they wanted to go but were worried; 33% of the students had never donated blood; 31% of the students had donated blood for free. The survey shows that most college students are still willing to donate blood for free, but more than 30 students are afraid to donate blood because they are worried about hygienic conditions and are afraid that they will be infected with diseases by donating blood. Why does this happen? We think it has to do with negative publicity. Most of the reports we see on TV are people who will contract the virus because of this. Our society and government should actively create a safe environment for everyone, provide some positive publicity and guidance, eliminate obstacles in people's minds, and build people's trust in society. As the Internet has gradually become a part of college students' lives in recent years, there are also many prominent problems in online activities, such as online violence and the proliferation of pornographic information, which seriously endanger the physical and mental health of young people. Therefore, we conducted a survey on college students' morality on the Internet. The results of the survey are as follows: 81.25% of boys have never spread obscene, violent and other harmful information on the Internet, 93% of girls have never done it, 11.25% of boys have done this kind of behavior before, but no longer do it, and only 1% of girls do. This kind of behavior has always been observed by boys with a grade of 7.5, and girls with a grade of 6 have always behaved like this. The results show that among the people who are exposed to and spread bad information on the Internet, there are significantly more boys than girls. The reason may be that boys are more curious than girls. As contemporary college students, they should use Internet tools correctly, conduct healthy online interactions, avoid being addicted to the Internet, and develop a spirit of self-discipline.
3. Attitudes towards the relationship between man and nature
We mainly conduct research on college students’ attitudes towards environmental issues.
1. What is your attitude towards the use of disposable tableware
2. If some environmental protection activities are held, will you actively participate?
When surveying college students’ attitudes towards the use of disposable tableware, 70.5% of the students said they were aware and tried to use them as little as possible; 6.5% said they would definitely not use them; 25% of the boys said they didn’t care, and 6% of the girls said they didn’t care. . The results show that most students have a certain awareness of environmental protection and try not to use it when they can. Girls have a stronger awareness of environmental protection than boys. Maybe it’s because girls are more careful, pay more attention to details, and pay more attention to environmental protection. Part of this may be due to personality differences. Similarly, when investigating the enthusiasm of college students to participate in environmental protection activities, we found that girls are also more motivated than boys.
The analysis from the above three aspects shows that the social ethics awareness of Changsha college students has the following characteristics: lt; 1 gt; Most college students have a sense of public ethics and show it in practical actions; lt; 2 gt; Most college students can consciously abide by public morality but lack the courage to uphold public morality;lt;三gt; Most college students will still uphold public morality on the premise of maintaining private morality. For the above characteristics, we believe that there are the following reasons: 1. The personal ideological and moral cultivation and quality of college students need to be strengthened and improved; 2. The behaviors regulated by social morality include the smallest behavioral details in social and public life, and college students often Will ignore these details; 3. The herd mentality is widespread; 4. The impact of bad information on the Internet, such as violent games on the Internet; 5. Ideological and moral education in schools and families needs to be strengthened; 6. Bad social habits still exist .
We have the following suggestions on how to further strengthen college students’ awareness of public ethics: 1. First, strengthen college students’ own cultivation and quality, and cultivate social awareness and sense of responsibility in practice by actively participating in various social welfare activities. , we must cultivate a sense of public morality in the little daily things, in order to form a good social atmosphere, understand the principle of "don't do good deeds because they are small, and don't do evil deeds because they are small". Start with small things and attack small details. First, take the lead in practicing public ethics; 2. Secondly, families and schools should strengthen the education of college students' public ethics awareness.
College students are most exposed to home and campus. As parents, we should give our children correct moral education and not teach our children some erroneous thoughts of being selfish and always wary of others. As a school, we should carry out more activities to strengthen public moral education so that we can Students actively participate and let them cultivate their awareness of public morality through practice; 3. Finally, the government should provide a good social environment to improve college students’ awareness of public morality, such as: improving the social security system so that people begging on the roadside can receive relief; Improve the medical security system so that people can receive treatment in a more complete and cleaner medical environment. In general, the further strengthening of college students' social ethics awareness requires the joint efforts of individuals, families, schools and governments to truly achieve it. Only when people's awareness of social ethics is generally improved, will social atmosphere gradually improve.
