Writing on paper, especially writing articles, I like to listen to the sound produced by the rubbing of pens on paper, especially when I smell the unique ink smell of paper products at the tip of my nose, which makes me feel as if the whole person has sublimated. Typing on a mobile phone or computer can't give me such pleasure at all. Fingers are too easy to drop, and it's too easy to delete posts. I always feel a little empty, and it's hard to feel solid, but I don't know what to express. Keyboard lacks the ink smell of paper and the unique sense of security and belonging of that paper. So until now, I still prefer to paint on paper and enjoy that unique pleasure.
Perhaps because paper culture has been passed down for thousands of years, I always feel that it represents a special meaning and carries the great mission entrusted to it by history. Ancient people's thoughts, culture, daily life and even historical tracks are almost handed down through paper records, so people can easily feel a sense of respect for paper when they see those precious documents, and they will not easily humiliate it. For example, whether I write or draw on paper, I will inherit a sense of caution. I won't write until I think about it. If you don't make mistakes, you don't make mistakes. It's best to finish without any traces of alteration, otherwise it's just like failing.
Modern people's fascination with paper may be their fascination with the sense of reality and belonging. In black and white, there will always be a very formal feeling, which virtual networks can't give. Perhaps it is precisely because of this unique feeling that paper will still occupy a place in this era of rapid development of science and technology. The day when paper disappears may be the day of cultural fault.
