Wufu Valley, the word, has traveled far. Born in the first year of Jingdezhen in northern Song Zhenzong (1004) and died in the first year of Huizong Jianjing (11kloc-0/). Yuzhou Township, Peng Xia Town, longhu district, Shantou City (at that time, it was the capital of Pengzhou, Haiyang County, and Shaoxing 10 years ago had not moved its capital to Jieyang County).

His father, Wu Zongtong, once worshipped Hanlin as a lecturer and lived in Chaozhou. Wu Fugu was clever since childhood, and Ren Xia was kind-hearted. Because of his erudition and mastery of classics, he was recommended as Lian Xiao and was appointed as a professor in the palace during the reign of Song Shenzong. He is very strict about his research. Although he is upright and upright in his official career, he has won the esteem of a generation of literati Sima Guang and Han Qi. Because Wu Fugu hated the intrigue in the palace and was indifferent to his official career, he soon resigned as filial piety and excused himself from the above table.

? Su Dongpo said that "there are no bad guys in the world". Because of his supreme position in the literary world and his transcendental view of knowing people and making friends, Su Dongpo has friends all over the world. A friend of Su Dongpo's from Guangdong is called Wu Fugu. Su Dongpo, the head of Wufugu, is 32 years old and belongs to the turn of the year.

Wu Fugu is one of the "Eight Masters of Chaozhou in Tang and Song Dynasties". Historically, Wu Fugu was born in an official family. Since childhood, I have been clever and unrestrained, and I am ready to help others. He is called "an official, happy". He reads the history of the Bible and has an excellent character. He was summoned by Song Shenzong and was awarded a professor at the Palace. However, Wu retro indifferent to fame and fortune, resigned on the grounds of "filial piety", praised his filial piety, knew that he was interested in mountains and rivers, and named him "Mr."

Shortly after returning to his hometown, Wu Fugu said to his wife, "Yellow dust is none of my business. My home is deep in the white clouds." So Wu Fugu bid farewell to his wife and children, left home and traveled abroad. He built a remote temple in Matianshan, Jinzao Town, Chaoyang District, Shantou City, built a humble abode, became a monk and traveled around the world.

Later, when his father died, Wu Fugu returned to his hometown and spent three years in mourning to concentrate on educating his children. At the end of three years, Wu Fugu traveled again and made friends with famous people in the world, but he wanted nothing but to study the method of keeping in good health.

What Wu Fugu is familiar with is his association with Su Dongpo. Before they met, Su Dongpo knew Wu Fugu's father. He worked in the imperial court, but he had no contact with Wu Fugu himself, only heard of him. They first met when Su Dongpo transferred from Mizhou, Shandong Province to Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, and went to Jinan via Qingzhou. At that time, they mainly discussed the way of keeping in good health. Su Dongpo later recalled seeing Wu Fugu for the first time and said, "Ye Zi told his servant to be born as soon as he saw him."

Wu's retro regimen advocates the sum of subtle and continuous gradual changes, "the smallest is the most harmonious"; "Peace is the feeling of things, I am light, and peace is my response. The external light slides inside, but physically prepared. " Su Dongpo's "striving for strength", hoping to make a difference in life, is not in line with the regimen advocated by Wu Fugu, but it does not affect them to form eternal friends.

In later contacts, Su Dongpo wrote an inscription for the far temple of Wu Fugu, praising Wu Fugu for "not liking or worrying, not being rigid or soft, not being lazy or not repairing." Su Dongpo also named a bridge advocated by Wu Fugu in his residence "Retro Bridge". This bridge is located in Jingou Village, Jinzao Town, Chaoyang District, Shantou City. The local people set up a stone tablet at the bridge to commemorate it.

Wu Fugu was buried beside the Yuan You Temple after his death. On the way from Jingou Village to Matian, the villagers erected tombstones. Several years have passed, and now the local people have erected a new monument. It is the retro bridge and this tombstone. People surnamed Wu in Jingou Village all say that they are descendants of Wu Fugu. Speaking of the friendship between Wu Fugu and Su Dongpo, I am very proud.

In the second year of Song Xining (A.D. 1069), Wufu Valley visited Dengzhou, and got 12 strange stones in Beihai and brought them back to Matian Mountain. At that time, Su Dongpo was demoted to the south of the Yangtze River, and Wu did not shy away from it. He often corresponded with him. Later, as a foster parent, Wu Fugu returned to Chaozhou to repair the garden pavilion and raise the children. After Wu Zongtong's death, he was buried not far from Matian Mountain. Wu Fugu led his family to settle in Houcuo of Nanchao, Jieyang County, and it was convenient to guard the land tomb because it was separated from Matianshan by a river. Since then, Wu Fugu has gone out to travel again. In the communication between Wu Fugu and Su Dongpo, Su Dongpo's poems mostly involved several thousand-mile trips when Wu Fugu was relegated.

In the third year of Yuanfeng in Song Shenzong (1083), Su Dongpo was exiled to Huangzhou, Hubei Province, and Wu Fugu visited Huangzhou. In the first year of Song Zhezong Shaosheng (1094), Su Dongpo was exiled from Dingzhou, Hebei Province to Huizhou, Guangdong Province, and Wu Fugu rushed to Dingzhou and Yangzhou to say goodbye to Su Dongpo. Wu Fugu informed Su Dongpo of his idea of becoming a monk, and Su Dongpo presented a poem "Wu will become a monk and fan a mountain pillow screen":

I'm Fan Zhongshan, and the cliff opens the sky.

Whoever uses the big round mirror will enter the house.

Teacher Lao Yueyue. The painter was drunk.

If you are always suspicious, you will have a cloud dream.

A thousand stones are under control, and you can use your fingers for a long time.

I don't know, and I hate giving children hands.

Although the short screen is tortuous, sit back and relax.

Being a monk is not today, and the washing method is clean.

Clouds are floating, and the banquet is sitting on the willow.

Forget the purple, go bald.

During Su Dongpo's exile in Huizhou, Wu Fugu visited many times. Wu Fugu also made suggestions to help Su Dongpo build the West Lake. Su Dongpo wrote many poems during his time together. Among them, "Wu sleepless, and poetic drama, all the Taoist priests in Chicago are harmonious, but also rhyme":

Talking about the fairy road and the five immortals, there is no big fate in the end.

A crane knows midnight alone, and an old silkworm doesn't eat for three nights.

Pity you solved the human dream and let me escape from drunken Zen.

It will become a much-told story with Jiangshan, and you may wish to sing and drink in the New Year.

At that time, people used to cook taro and eat it cold, which easily caused flatulence. On New Year's Eve, Wu Fugu introduced a local food custom to Su Dongpo and cooked two taro for Su Dongpo to taste. After eating, Su Dongpo wrote an article "Braised Taro Stick":

Materia Medica refers to taro, local cheese, and clouds to replenish qi to satisfy hunger. Huizhou is rich in this kind of thing, but people can't help eating it. Wu said, "This is not a crime in my mind. Taro should be thrown away, wrapped in warm paper and simmered gently. If it is too hot, it will be loose and greasy, but it can replenish qi and satisfy hunger. Those who benefit from it today, boiled with skin water, are hard and tasteless, and their hair is suitable. " Two nights ago, Bingzi was very greedy at night. On a long trip, she saw two pieces of taro, which were very beautiful. This is for the book.

To this end, Su Dongpo also wrote a poem "Visiting Children to Eat Wild Vegetables and Burn Taros on New Year's Eve":

The spring breeze is cold, and I am hungry at night.

Cow dung burns taro, and the villagers are lazier and more disabled.

In the "Edible Materia Medica" compiled by Lu He, a famous Chinese medicine doctor in the Ming Dynasty, Wu Fugu also advised Su Shi to eat porridge for health: "Su Shi is very hungry at night, and Wu advised to eat rice porridge, which can bring forth the new and benefit the diaphragm and nourish the stomach. Porridge is fast and beautiful, and it is wonderful to sleep after drinking porridge. " This is also considered to be the earliest written record of the custom of eating porridge in chaozhou people.

In the fourth year of Song Zhe (1097), Su Dongpo demoted Qiongzhou again. During this period, Wu Fugu, who was over 90 years old, made a special trip to visit Su Dongpo in Zhonghe Town, Danzhou City, Hainan Province, regardless of the long and difficult journey.

I heard that Wu Fugu is coming to visit. Su Dongpo recalled the past, and Tao wrote in Eleven Miscellaneous Poems:

Rancho cut corners and was often forced to suffer.

Going west to the mountains, not practicing Chang' an people.

See you later, because the bird road is too white.

I traveled with Wu Yuan yesterday and hid a narrow ladle together.

Chaoyang is separated by a sea of clouds, and if you see guests at the end of the year.

Reducing salary and supporting fire is regarded as the order of the phoenix.

Wu Fugu arrived in Danzhou all the way, and Su Dongpo lamented that "Ye Ziyong came, and he was brave." Wu Fugu told The Paper that the court would use courtiers, which was a great comfort to Su Dongpo who felt hopeless of resurrection. The two talked all night, and Su Dongpo recorded it in a poem:

In the past, chasing the land of joy, the dream of a cold window could not be realized;

A joke scares the midnight, and the wind and rain grow dark.

The chicken sings the mountain pepper and the bell rings outside the frost;

It's just that seeing you again now seems like a third life.

Wu Fugu also had contacts with Su Dongpo's younger brother Su Zhe. Su Zhe has a poem "Calling Mr. Wu Ye Zi in the Rain";

Chai Men has never left a trace of life, and there is no shortage of water when it rains in summer.

Lai Jun from Bigu can make a guest appearance, so I will fry honey here for the time being and pay Kang Tao.

Su Dongpo read Su Zhe's poems and wrote The Second Rhyme for Mr. Wu.

Su Dongpo left Hainan after being pardoned and went north via Guangzhou. When Wu Fugu heard the news, He Chongdao, a Taoist of Guangzhou Xuanmiao Temple, chased him from Panyu to Feilaixia in Qingyuan to bid farewell, and walked with Guangling Temple. When he left, Su Dongpo asked Wu Retro what his explanation was, and Wu Retro just smiled.

After leaving Su Dongpo, Wu Fugu died on his way home at the age of 98.

When Su Dongpo arrived in Zhou Zhen (now Yizheng, Jiangsu Province), he was very sad to learn of Wu Fugu's death. He wrote "Sacrifice the Son":

Alas, Tao is contrary to the world. Silently ask for it, close the door and hang the curtain. I sat still and forgot, feeling like a child. Or like a pot, a ventilator. All over the country, I long for hope. Anxious people slow themselves down and forget their hunger and thirst. Road is home, righteousness is home. People who are good at doing things will never make mistakes. Send me back to the north, and you will lose your clothes. There is no cure for the disease, but it is sweet and fat. Ask about the future and laugh it off. Take it off and the clouds will be exposed. I am alone, sighing and booing. As soon as I tell you the strategy, the ship will fly east.

Now, in Liucun, Nanchao Township, Paotai Town, Jieyang City, villagers have built an ancestral temple in memory of their ancestor Mr. Wu: "Wu's Ancestral Temple". Every year during the Chinese New Year holiday, the blind date will come to this ancestral temple to worship their ancestors and feel the kindness and glory of their ancestors.

Scholars have analyzed that Su Dongpo and Wu Fugu have a profound friendship. It is very important that Wu's retro secular feelings infected Su Dongpo. In particular, Su Dongpo was inspired by Wu's Taoist thoughts of restoring ancient ways during his political career, and realized his bohemian character and relaxed attitude towards life, and even won the gradually accumulated principles of "harmony" and "security". This is beneficial for Su Dongpo to find spiritual comfort in adversity and spend his old age safely.

The intersection between people, whether they are close friends or just acquaintances, is not only congenial, but also a friend in need. When Su Dongpo was in trouble, Lao Wu went to Wan Li to visit him. This friendship is precious.

Su Dongpo became attached to Guangdong because of his relegation to Huizhou, and also left a story for Guangdong because of his deep friendship with Wufugu.
