In the past 36 years, Liang has experienced a historic moment on the African continent and witnessed the step-by-step development of China-Africa friendly relations. At that time, the new Nepalese government completely froze the major engineering contracts signed with foreign countries during the military government period, including the railway rehabilitation project contracted by China Company, with the contract amount exceeding 500 million US dollars. Ambassador Liang worked hard through various channels, and with the direct promotion of President Nepal, this project was re-implemented. According to Nigeria's national conditions, Liang put forward suggestions for oil cooperation with Nigeria, and actively promoted China to import oil from Nigeria and our company to participate in Nigeria's oil development. During Ambassador Liang's tenure, China-Nepal cooperation in infrastructure construction, agriculture and petroleum has made great progress. Since 2003, Liang has been transferred to China as Ambassador to Namibia. Ambassador Liang has special feelings for Namibia. He has long been concerned about the Namibian people's struggle for independence. From 65438 to 0990, he went to Namibia with China's special envoy and then Deputy Prime Minister Wu to attend the Namibian independence celebration and share the joy of independence with the Namibian people. Namibia is rich in mineral resources, 90% of which are exported, and the output value created by mining accounts for nearly 20% of its GDP. According to this national condition of Namibia, Ambassador Liang suggested and actively promoted the mining cooperation between China and Namibia, and made some progress. He also tried to reverse the relatively weak economic and trade cooperation between China and Namibia, made an in-depth inspection of Namibian mineral and agricultural resources, built a bridge for China enterprises to "go global" and promoted the establishment of mixed economic and trade committees between the two countries. During Ren Liang's ambassador to Nepal and Namibia, the Taiwan Province authorities failed in their attempt to undermine the relations between China and Nepal, and Nepal and Namibia gave China strong support in international affairs. Watering the fruitful results of China-Africa friendship When Liang entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, many African countries were not yet independent. At that time, China firmly supported the struggle and efforts of African countries for national independence, safeguarding national sovereignty and developing national economy. Liang's work is closely linked to the fate of African countries and has forged a profound fighting friendship with the African people. Liang was deeply moved by the African people's friendship and support for China. In the early 1980s, Liang had an accident while working in Ghana. At that time, a Ghanaian drove by, found him, and immediately sent him to the hospital for examination, so that he got timely treatment. He said that if there are problems with vehicles on the road, Africans will always take the initiative to help. Since he became the ambassador to Namibia, he has never met Namibia's refusal of China's request. "Be honest with Africans and exchange ideas. African countries cannot just stay at home. They should go out and have a look, conduct field research and find more areas and opportunities for cooperation. " Ambassador Liang summed up his diplomatic experience like this. During his more than eight years as ambassador to Africa, Liang has established good working relations and personal friendship with the leaders of the host countries, government officials and people from all walks of life, including Nigerian President Obasanjo, Namibian founding President Nujoma and current President Pohamba. He visited most of Nigeria's 36 states and made friends in the hometown of governors and ministers, despite the chaotic public security, rampant diseases and frequent flight accidents in Nigeria. He has also established close relations with the director of the Namibian National Planning Commission, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy and other key members of the government. Nigerian President Obasanjo often affectionately calls him a Nigerian, and Namibian President also says that he is an ambassador that can be seen all over Namibia. At the end of last year, in recognition of Ambassador Liang's outstanding contribution to enhancing China-Africa friendship, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries awarded him one of the "10 China people who touched Africa" and awarded him the "First China-Africa Friendship Contribution Award".
