The classical Chinese translation of Ji Kang’s night tour

1. The original text and translation of a night tour at Chengtian Temple

Original text: On the night of October 12th in the sixth year of Yuanfeng, I undressed and was about to fall asleep. The moonlight came into my house, and I woke up happily. I went to Chengtian Temple to look for Zhang Huaimin. Huaimin was still awake, so he and I walked together in the courtyard. The courtyard looked like accumulated water, empty and clear, with algae and waterlilies interspersed in the water. Covered with bamboo and cypress shadows. What night is without a moon? Where are there no bamboos or cypresses? But there are few idle people like me and my ears. Translation: On the night of October 12, the sixth year of Yuanfeng (or the night of October 12, 1083 AD, it does not need to be translated), when (I) took off my clothes and prepared to sleep, I happened to see the moonlight. It sprinkled into the house through the window, (so I) got up happily and went out for a walk. Thinking that there was no one (with whom I could play), I went to Chengtian Temple to look for Zhang Huaimin. Zhang Huaimin was not sleeping either, so we Let's take a walk in the courtyard together. The courtyard is full of moonlight, like stagnant water filling the courtyard, clear and transparent. Algae and waterlilies in the water are tangled together, which turns out to be the shadow of bamboo and cypress. What night is without moonlight? (Again) Where are there no pine and cypress trees? It's just that there is a lack of leisurely people like the two of us (who are not obsessed with fame and wealth but can leisurely linger in the situation). 2. The original text and translation of "Xun Biao" and "Wade at Night"

The Jing people wanted to attack the Song Dynasty, so they sent people to show off the water first. , the army was frightened and the whole army was destroyed. It was possible to guide them when they first showed up. Now the water has changed and it is better. The people of Jing still guided them according to the situation. This is why they were defeated. The master of this world is the king of the past. The law is similar to this. At that time, it was already inferior to the law of the previous kings, and it is said that "this is the law of the previous kings" and the law is used to rule. Isn't it sad? Therefore, if the country cannot be governed, it will lead to chaos; if it abides by the law but does not change, it will be disobedient; if it is disobedient and chaotic, it will not be able to maintain the country. Times change and changes are appropriate. For example, if you are a good doctor, the disease will change and the medicine will also change. The disease will change but the medicine will not change. Xiangzhi Shou, the people, are now the sons of war. Therefore, everything must be done according to the law, and those who change the law will change according to the times. If this is the case, there is nothing wrong. ("Lu Shi Chun Qiu·Cha Jin") Translation of Chu State People's Thoughts They made a sneak attack on the Song Dynasty and sent people to measure the depth of the River River and make a mark. The River River suddenly surged. Unknown to the Chu people, they still followed the old signs and waded across it in the middle of the night. As a result, more than a thousand people drowned, and the three armies were shocked. Wow, just like the collapse of houses in the city. It was possible to cross the river when the signs were made. Now the water level has changed and has risen much. However, the Chu people still followed the old signs to cross the river. This is their failure. The reason is that the current monarch imitates the laws of ancient emperors, which is somewhat like this. The era he lives in is no longer adapted to the laws of ancient emperors, but he still says "this is the law of ancient emperors" and imitates it in order to Isn’t it sad that it serves as the basis for governing the country? Therefore, governing a country without laws will lead to chaos. Sticking to the laws of ancient emperors without making changes will lead to fallacies. If there are fallacies and chaos, the country cannot be preserved. Society has changed and the times have developed, so reforms are timely. .This is like a good doctor treating a disease. The disease condition is ever-changing, and the medicine must also be ever-changing. If the condition has changed but the medicine has not changed, people who could have lived a long life will now become short-lived. Therefore, everything must be done carefully Act according to the law, and those who reform must change according to the development of the times. If you understand this principle, then there is nothing wrong. 3. Translation of classical Chinese sentences in "Jin Shu Biography of Ji Kang"

The only ones who can have a spiritual dialogue with him are Ruan Ji and Shan Tao, and among them are You Xiangxiu, Liu Ling, and Ruan Xian. Wang Rong said that he and Ji Kang had lived in Shanyang for twenty years and had never seen Ji Kang express joy or anger.

Zhong Hui resented Ji Kang for this. When Ji Kang was arrested, Zhong Hui was arrested. Hui Jin said to Emperor Wen: "Ji Kang is a sleeping dragon, we cannot let him get up.

You want the world to be worry-free, so you have to worry about Ji Kang." So Jin slandered and said: "...Ji Kang, Lu An and others spoke licentiously and slandered ethics, which the emperor could not tolerate.

We should find a reason to get rid of him to purify the customs. " Emperor Wen got close to Zhong Hui and listened to him, so he killed Ji together. Kang and Lu An were killed.

Ji Kang was about to be executed in Dongshi. Three thousand Taixue students asked for Ji Kang to be their teacher, but they were not allowed. Ji Kang looked back at his shadow. Before that, Ji Kang had been traveling to the west of Luoyang. I stayed in Huayang Pavilion at night and took the piano to play.

Discussing music and rhythm with Ji Kang and giving clear and eloquent speeches. So (the ancient man) came to play on the harp and played "Guangling San". The tone was unparalleledly beautiful.

So ("Guangling San") was passed on to Ji Kang, and Ji Kang was made to swear that he would never pass it on to others, and he would not say what his name was. Ji Kang was good at analyzing principles and could write articles. His lofty taste naturally reached a mysterious and far-reaching realm.

Collected noble people from ancient times and wrote biographies and praises for them. I hope to make friends with saints from thousands of years ago.

He also wrote "The Supreme Master's Proverbs", which is enough to explain the way of the emperor, and he also wrote "The Theory of Sound without Sadness and Music" which is very organized. There is another biography about his son Ji Shao.

Original text Ji Kang, courtesy name Shu Ye, was a native of Qiao State. His first surname was Xi, and he was from Shangyu in Kuaiji. He moved to Yan to avoid resentment.

Zhi has Ji Mountain, and his home is on its side, so he is named. I'm glad, brother, that you have a great talent in the world, including Taipu and Zongzheng.

Kang Zao was alone, a man of extraordinary talent, and far ahead of others. He is seven feet and eight inches long, has a beautiful voice, and graceful manners. However, his earth and wood shape is not decorated with natural ornaments. People think that he has the appearance of a dragon, a phoenix, and a natural nature.

Tranquil and few desires, concealing dirt and flaws, generous and simple. If you don't learn from a teacher, you should know everything in the Expo, and grow up well in "Lao" and "Zhuang".

Married to the Wei clan and became a doctor in Zhongsan. He often cultivates his eating habits, plays the piano and chants poems, and is content in his heart.

He believed that the natural talent of immortals was not the result of accumulation of knowledge. As for the proper guidance and training, Anqi and Pengzu would be able to achieve this, so he wrote "On Health Preservation". He also believes that a gentleman is selfless, and his argument goes: "A gentleman is someone whose mind is confused about right and wrong, but his actions are not contrary to the Tao."

Why do you say this? A person whose energy is calm and his spirit is weak, his mind is not clear. The person who has a bright body and an enlightened heart has emotions that are not tied to what he wants. Since he is not yet in the heart, he can go beyond the teachings and let nature take its course.

When things flow smoothly, there is no violation of the Dao; when one goes beyond the name, one is left to one's own will, so there is no way of knowing what is right and what is wrong. Therefore, when talking about a gentleman, the main thing is to be unprepared, and to talk about things being beautiful; when talking about a villain, it is about being at a loss. It is wrong to hide one's emotions, and it is a violation of the Dao.

What is it? To hide one's emotions and be stingy is the worst thing for a villain; to be humble and helpless is what a gentleman should do. What's wrong with me?

It's better to be virtuous than to value life. From this point of view, there is no way to think about people's intentions.

Therefore, it is said that "a gentleman walks the road and forgets his own body", and this is true. A gentleman's behavior is virtuous, and he does not act based on restraint; Measures, no matter what happens and what to do later.

That is why you are proud to forget the virtuous, and you will meet the virtuous. Suddenly, your heart will meet the good, and you will be careless, but things will be the same. " That's more or less the case.

Cover his heart.
