The empress dowager here is the empress of Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang, and the wife she "created" is Liu Bang's beloved Princess Qi.
According to historical records, he also ordered his son Han Huidi to be invited to the scene to look at his wife's misery. Hui Di wept bitterly after reading it, pointing to her mother's cruelty, and then became seriously ill.
After Liu Bang's death, Lv Zhi became "pro-imperial". This move of hers not only vented her anger in those years, but also meant "setting an example". At that time, everyone was in danger, from the royal family to the officials of the DPRK.
Let's talk about the past of Liu Bang, Lv Zhi and their extended families. From a historical perspective, how did Lv Zhi change from an innocent girl of 16 years old to the first woman in China history?
Liu Bang and Lv Zhi.
High-impedance Liu Bang, a native of Pei County (now Fengxian County, Xuzhou), was born in a peasant family, but he was not good at farming, so he was scolded by his father. After the establishment of the Qin Dynasty, Liu Bang became the director of Sishui Pavilion. "Ten miles is the pavilion, and ten pavilions are the hometown". At that time, the pavilion length was relative to the current village head.
Liu Bang likes drinking and making friends on weekdays, during which he met Xiao He and other close friends. Because of drinking, he also met Cao Shi, who runs a pub. Later, they lived together and gave birth to a son, Liu Fei, but Liu Bang did not marry Cao Shi and gave birth to the mother and son.
When Liu Bang was 40 years old, he met Lv Gong. Lv Gong is a large local family with a lot of land. Lv Gong will visit the fortune teller himself. It is said that he saw at a glance that Liu Bang would succeed in the future, so he decided to marry his only daughter, Lv Zhi.
Lv Zhi was only 16 years old at that time, and he was very young, while Liu Bang was 40 years old, with an outsider and a son.
Others don't know how Lv Zhi was feeling. However, according to historical records, after marriage, Lv Zhi tried to manage the family. They have a son and a daughter, namely Liu Ying, the later emperor of the Han Dynasty and Princess Luyuan.
In 209 BC, the first year of Qin Ershi, Liu Bang saw that the Qin Dynasty had perished and took part in the uprising. Because he started from Pei County, he was called "Pei Gong".
On the one hand, Liu Bang was escorting the prisoner to Mount Li, and the prisoner escaped because of excessive drinking, so he had to rebel (according to Qin law). Liu bang simply released all the prisoners and ran to Mangdang Mountain to hide himself.
Lv Zhi and other family members are inevitably involved in Liu Bang's escape, but she still cares about Liu Bang. It is said that Lv Zhi went to Mangdang Mountain alone to send silver and daily necessities to Liu Bang, which shows that they were very affectionate at that time.
Later, with the help of Xiao He, Han Xin and others, Liu Bang grew stronger and stronger, becoming the anti-Qin "Hanwang" who led Bashu and Hanzhong, and competing with Xiang Yu, the overlord of the rising place of Huiji.
In 205 BC, Liu Bang and Xiang Yu fought in Pengcheng, and Liu Bang was defeated. In order to escape from danger, Liu Bang completely ignored his family, left his wife, children and father, and left alone.
Xiang Yu thought that with Liu Bang's family in hand, Liu Bang would surrender, but according to historical records, when he heard that if he didn't surrender, Xiang Yu would cook his father, Liu Bang's answer was "no".
He said: You and I are brothers. If you want to cook our father, please give me one.
Lv Zhi's family was detained by Xiang Yu for three years and didn't return to Liu Bang until the two sides negotiated. She is not happy to be back with Liu Bang, because there is a new person around Liu Bang, and that is Mrs. Qi.
In Lv Zhi's view, this is a bitter irony. His thoughts have brought him a "new smile" in the past three years!
"Heavy concubines destroy wives", and several princes are abolished.
In 202 BC, Liu Bang proclaimed himself emperor in Chang 'an, known as Emperor Gaozu in history. Liu bang is a good emperor. His policy of sharing information with the people improved the people's livelihood in the Western Han Dynasty and laid the foundation for the later rule of Wenjing.
There are many comments on Liu Bang in the past dynasties. Su Zhe, a writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, commented on Liu Bang: "Since ancient times, heroes are the only ones who can't reach the heights of Han Dynasty."
But as far as family relations are concerned, Liu Bang's harem is very disharmonious, which is mainly related to Liu Bang's preference for Mrs. Qi. Although not to the point of "taking concubinage and killing his wife", Liu Bang tried several times to change Mrs Qi's son Liu Ruyi (Prince of Zhao) into a prince.
After Liu Bang proclaimed himself emperor, as his first wife, Lv Zhi became a queen, and her first son, Liu Ying, also born of Liu Bangsheng, was also made a prince. The favored Mrs. Qi often "blows" in Liu Bang's ear, hoping to turn her son Liu Ruyi into a prince. Liu Bang also felt that his son born with Miracle was the most like himself, and he had the idea of replacing him with a prince for many times.
Faced with Mrs Qi's provocation and the precarious situation of mother and son, she knew that Liu Bang was unreliable, so she started as a minister and got the support of others.
Sean gave Lv Zhi a "good plan", that is, the prince invited Liu Bang's four hermits who had searched for him for many years to help him.
Sure enough, Liu Bang saw that the prince was assisted by these four men, and changed his view of his weakness. He thought that the prince was full-fledged and worthy of a big post, and decided not to change the prince.
Mrs. Qi wept bitterly after hearing this, and Liu Bang wrote a song specially to please his favorite concubine. There is a saying that "wings have grown and are absolutely everywhere".
Mrs. Qi will never give up the abolition of Prince Li. Once when Liu was seriously ill, Mrs. Qi waited on him in front of his bed, but she immediately gave her young son Liu Ruyi to Liu Bang. Liu Bang was still chanting the name of his beloved son Liu Ruyi during his illness.
The fate of mother and son "all roads lead to the same goal"
In BC 195, Liu Bang died at the age of 62. Liu Ying, a 0/6-year-old prince, succeeded to the throne and became the empress dowager, while his wife Qi was imprisoned and isolated from her son.
Hui Di is not as weak as Liu Bang said, but he is kind-hearted. He knew his mother, and in order to avoid his younger brother Zhao Wang being "killed" by his mother, he took him with him and lived together. It has been difficult for Lv Zhi to find the opportunity to do it.
One morning after Hui Di ascended the throne for half a year, Hui Di went out hunting early in the morning, leaving his younger brother to sleep in the palace. When Lv Zhi got the news, he ordered the prince of Zhao to drink the poisoned wine. There are also records that the prince of Zhao was strangled.
I hate that I can't get rid of a lady Qi who lost her son. The final outcome is to be made into a "lady" and put in a pigsty to die painfully.
The place where Mrs. Qi was imprisoned was called Yongxiang, where the lost concubines or female prisoners in the palace were held. "Son is king, mother is land" is the first sentence of the Yuefu poem "Song of Lady Qi", which is said to have been written by Lady Qi when she was imprisoned in Yongxiang rice mill.
Mrs. Qi, who was loved by her great-grandfather Liu Bang for more than ten years, was good at singing and dancing. Her political wisdom did not match the political ambition of the abandoned prince, and eventually she died in the court struggle in the most tragic way, and the fate of her mother and son "reached the same goal by different routes".
Pre-imperial weighing system
After Liu Bang's death, I don't know whether it was because he failed to protect his younger brother from his mother or because he was stimulated by watching Man of the Hour. After a serious illness, Huidi was "lazy" again.
In four years, regardless of the opposition of Princess Luyuan, Zhang, the daughter of Princess Luyuan, was made the queen. My niece married my uncle, which made me very dissatisfied, and Zhang Cai 1 1 year old.
I never accepted Zhang until I died. He drinks all day and is depressed. He died at the age of 24. After Hui Di's death, Lv Zhi took charge of DPRK-China affairs, and Lv Zhi became the first woman in China's history to reach the peak of her power.
After Hui Di's death, Lv Hou was in power for 8 years, plus 7 years in Hui Di's period, and Lv Zhi actually took power 15 years. During this period, she not only brutally suppressed dissidents, but also abolished "carrying calligraphy", vigorously developed culture, cracked down on separatism, built the Great Wall, and consolidated the unity of the Western Han regime.
Lv Zhi's system of "fixing the dynasty" set an example for later generations of women to successfully govern the country, and also set an example for later emperors Ze Tian and Xiao Taihou. Of course, she was the Empress Zhao in the Warring States Period.
