Ten Analects of Confucius
Pre-Qin: Confucius Disciples and Re-transmission Disciples
Confucius said, "It's better to learn from the times, isn't it? Is it not delightful to have friends coming from distant quarters? Isn't it a gentleman to be ignorant and not satisfied? "
Zeng Zi said, "I visit myself three times a day: are you unfaithful to others? Make friends without believing them? Can't you learn it? "
Confucius said, "Reviewing the past and learning the new can be a teacher."
Confucius said, "Learning without thinking is useless, and thinking without learning is dangerous."
Confucius said, "You, teach your daughter to know! Knowing it is knowing it, not knowing it is not knowing it, but knowing it. "
Confucius said, "When you see the sage Si Qi, you should reflect on yourself if you don't see the sage."
Confucius said, "In a threesome, we must learn from each other. Choose the good and follow it, and change it if it is not good. "
Zeng Zi said, "Scholars have to be unyielding and have a long way to go. Isn't it important to think that benevolence is your own responsibility? Isn't it far after death? "
Confucius said, "When you are cold, you will know that pine and cypress will wither."
Zi Gong asked, "Who has a word and can do it all his life?" Confucius said, "I forgive you! Don't do to others what you don't want. "
Confucius said, "Isn't it a pleasure to study and review frequently? Isn't it happy to have like-minded friends coming from afar? Others don't understand (know) me, but I don't resent (get angry). Isn't it also a morally cultivated person? "
Ceng Zi said, "I reflect on myself many times every day. Have you tried your best to advise others? Have you been sincere with your friends? Have you reviewed what the teacher taught you? "
Confucius said, "Revise what you have learned to gain new understanding and experience, and you can be a teacher for others with this."
Confucius said, "If you only study without thinking, you will feel confused and at a loss.": Just thinking but not studying is harmful. "
Confucius said, "Zhong You, let me teach you the attitude towards knowing and not knowing! Knowing is knowing, and not knowing is not knowing. Such people are smart. "
Confucius said, "When you see a person with both ability and political integrity, you think of being as good as him; When you see a person who is not virtuous, you should reflect on yourself and see if you have the same problems as him. "
Confucius said, "When several people walk together, there must be someone worth learning from. Choose their advantages to learn, and if you see that you have the same shortcomings as them, you should correct them in time. "
Ceng Zi said, "Ambitious people have to be strong and brave, because they have great responsibilities and a long way to go. Isn't it important to regard the implementation of "benevolence" as your own responsibility? Isn't it far away that struggle doesn't stop until death? "
Confucius said, "Only in the cold winter do we know that the pine and cypress (b m 4 I) are the last to wither."
Zi Gong asked, "Is there a word that can be followed for life? Confucius said, "That's probably forgiveness! Don't impose on others what you don't want to do. "

The Analects of Confucius was written in the early Warring States period. Because Qin Shihuang burned books to bury Confucianism (called Fang warlock in ancient times, who was good at offering sacrifices and fortune telling, etc.), there were only three kinds of books that were orally taught and obtained from the wall of Confucius' residence in the Western Han Dynasty: twenty pieces of The Analects of Lu orally taught by Lu people.
There are 22 pieces of The Analects of Qi orally taught by Qi people, of which 2 pieces have many of the same chapters and sentences as The Analects of Lu, but there are two more pieces of Ask the King and Know.
Twenty-one Analects of Confucius (Ancient Analects of Confucius) were found in the double wall of Confucius' residence, and there were no two books: Ask the King and Know. However, Zi Zhangwen of Yao Yuepian was divided into another book, so there were two Zi Zhangpian, which were different from Qi Lun and Lu Lun.
