How to find a suitable job-changing opportunity in China?

How to find a reliable volunteer/job-changing opportunity was once the most tangled thing before I went abroad, and I met many friends who asked me, so I wanted to write my experience and hope to give you some help. I am Marukori. After graduation, I traveled alone in more than 3 countries on five continents. I have experienced volunteer travel, working and changing accommodation at home and abroad, including sofa guest experience. This article mainly shares stories about volunteers and working and changing accommodation.

1.

First of all, we should distinguish between volunteer travel and working and staying.

Volunteers generally engage in public welfare activities and do something without pursuing personal interests (or for realizing self-worth) for the purpose of helping others repay the society. This method is not only unpaid, but even involves paying for it. (poverty alleviation/teaching/natural environmental protection/archaeology)

Now simple travel can no longer meet the needs of the public. Many people want to travel and make friends and make this trip meaningful. I suggest you choose volunteer travel. Everything will be arranged by the organization (pick-up and drop-off, accommodation, schedule, and the issuance of international volunteer certificates ...), and there will be a large part of the play time, and the cycle will be short. Generally, starting from one week, the cost will be similar to that of the tour group (different structures charge different fees)

Work for accommodation: that is, work for accommodation, in exchange for free accommodation with one's own skills or labor, and there will generally be very clear requirements on skills or working hours. (farm, hotel, homestay) What you may need to do: check in/out/receive guests/clean the room/buy ingredients/cook or wash dishes

travel on a poor trip/friends who are short of money or just want to expand their horizons for the time being, recommend the way of working travel, which usually starts from three weeks at the shortest, and has specific work and duration, usually 4-8 hours a day, one week.

Whether you are traveling as a volunteer or changing places for work, you are required to have a good psychological quality, be independent and be hard-working. Friends who pay too much attention to food and accommodation and suffer from the princess's illness will definitely be unbearable.

2.

Domestic volunteers/job-changing:

Now most youth brigades are recruiting volunteers. You can get information on WeChat WeChat official account, such as Douban Group, Granular Bank, Easin and Youth Travel Volunteers, which is very convenient, so I won't say much.

But there is a problem: you will find that the chances of being selected in WeChat official account are very small and the procedures are very complicated. However, is the threshold for youth travel volunteers that high? Not really!

Its purpose is to let you promote its brand. Whether you can get a volunteer opportunity … is not important to it. Therefore, I recommend: register directly with the inn information: email address, micro-signal, Weibo, phone number, etc., instead of registering through the platform, not to say that it is not possible to register through the platform, but this way is more efficient!

At onehouse in Chiang Mai, I went abroad for the first time to work and change accommodation, and at the same time I fell in love with the city of Chiang Mai.

3.

Working and changing accommodation abroad/volunteers:

Weibo/Douban: Now many China people go abroad to open youth hostels. You can find information from Weibo. I remember that there were many volunteers in Thailand when I was looking for them.

Facebook: At that time, I saw many opportunities for Taiwan Province to work and change places on Facebook, and other countries should also have them.

In addition, the website helpx is recommended, which contains opportunities for job-changing, lodging-changing/volunteering from all over the world. host will introduce in detail the work to be done there, the length of time, the number of people needed, etc. You can contact directly by email. Except for the membership fee for registering the website (Taobao 13rmb), there is no charge (some families or organizations will charge a small amount of room and board, which is nine Niu Yi cents compared with the fees charged by domestic organizations).

I know that there are many foreign volunteer organizations in China, and some projects are also on helpx, and the fee charged by helpx is one twentieth.

Some well-known international volunteer organizations:

Workaway: Just like helpx, you can get the contact information of the project leader by paying the registration fee.

IVHQ international volunteers: mainly in developing countries, providing teaching, protecting turtles, teaching monks, etc.

Helpx: At the same time, it publishes news of job-changing, lodging-changing and volunteering, mostly helping local people's homes. Working hours and contents can be negotiated

Greenway Greenway China: Providing quality volunteers at home and abroad

WWOOF: Mostly helping on the farm

4.

Simple and rude:

Another way is something I will use, but it is not recommended considering everyone's safety. For places that I am particularly interested in, I will call or email the store directly. (I feel like a black-collar worker = =)

5.

Registration method:

Generally, the boss will let you send your resume and photos of your life to the e-mail. You can explain your specialty, the purpose of changing jobs, the time you can arrive at your post, and what kind of experience you hope to get. Friends with special skills can attach your works. E-mail must be sincere, don't talk big just because you want this opportunity. Then just wait for a reply, that's all! There are not too many complicated procedures, and you don't need to pay attention to WeChat official account, forwarding, commenting and praising.

Why did I choose volunteer/part-time travel?

Because of poverty, QQQ has never tried volunteer travel, but many friends around me have participated, but I have worked as a travel experience officer in Yunnan, and worked in Chiang Mai, Semporna and Sri Lanka to change places. When I said that I was going to volunteer abroad, someone told me, "There are so many mountainous areas in need of help in China. What kind of love do you give abroad?" I wanted to say: I don't have such lofty ideals. Of course, I hope to help more people when I have the ability in the future, but now, I choose the way of traveling by working and changing accommodation. < P > First, it is to save travel expenses, so that I can go to more places with funds. You should know that the expenses after host provides room and board are actually very small.

2. Personally, I like volunteering in the local area. Traveling is a very tiring thing. I am too tired to run around for a long time. Now I always think that if you want to really understand a place, you must make friends with the local people and live like a local people.

7.

Focus: these are very important!

1. Don't think that volunteers don't have to spend money!

2. Before you go, you should know the situation clearly, such as "Is my room a single room, a dormitory, or a mixed room, is there hot water?" "Working hours in a day, rest time", "Work to be done" and so on. Avoid being exploited as cheap labor by "dirty" bosses, resulting in unnecessary misunderstandings.

3. It is more secure for volunteers to find a reputable organization when they travel.

4. Please think about the purpose of your trip before you go out. After all, too many people get lost in the journey under the guise of finding their true selves.

6.

What I have gained from working and changing places:

1 I have greatly improved my life skills, and I can cook and do housework at least a little

2. Generally, I work and change places in youth brigades. Where you meet all kinds of guests and unexpected situations, good communication skills are essential, and at the same time I will make friends from all over the world, oral English teachers everywhere. You will often experience a person in a completely strange place during your journey, and it is very rare to overcome your inner loneliness and fear

4. You travel to a place just to feel the local customs, which will probably be the best choice < P > Finally, I really want to thank every big family I have been to, such as one house in Chiang Mai, Travel Notes in Lijiang, wanderers inn Wanderers in Semporna. And Conti Helga's Folly, I am very lucky. Every house I have been to, whether the boss or the staff, is super good, and I know that I have too many shortcomings. Thank you for your tolerance.

PS: Language problem:

It's totally possible to stay out and play with a little English abroad, but it's still difficult to volunteer or work and change places. Now English is so important, you might as well sign up for an English class before coming out to see the world.

The above is my experience of working and changing accommodation. My personal strength is very weak. If you think this article is helpful to you,

please forward it to more friends in need.

Thank you for your support
