After the full-scale outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Li Jiayu, then commander of the 47th Army, volunteered to kill the enemy and led his troops to Hebei, Shanxi, Henan and other places. 1939 served as commander-in-chief of the 36th Army, 1944 was ambushed by the Japanese army in May, and was posthumously awarded as an army general by the Kuomintang government. 1984, with the approval of Sichuan provincial people's government, Li Jiayu was recognized as a revolutionary martyr. In 20 14, with the approval of the Central Committee and the State Council, Li Jiayu was recognized as a famous anti-Japanese hero.
Changzhi is an important town in southeastern Shanxi. 1938 February 200919, the Japanese army began to attack the city with the help of aircraft artillery. Li Keyuan, brigade commander of Li Jiayu 104 Division 3 12, led the 624th regiment to defend the city. On 2 1 day, the north gate of Changzhi was shelled by the Japanese army, and the Sichuan army fought hand-to-hand with the enemy. More than a thousand people died and the Japanese army suffered more than a thousand casualties, which became "the most tragic scene of the anti-Japanese war in the southeast corner of Shanxi."
1944, the Japanese army assembled140,000 troops to launch the battle of central Henan, and successively occupied Zhengzhou, Xuchang and Luoyang. Li Jiayu, commander-in-chief of the 36th Army, was ordered to lead his troops to Shanxian County, Henan Province to stop the Japanese army and cover the retreat of more than 400,000 friendly troops. On May 2 1 day, Li Jiayu and more than 200 officers and men of the headquarters were ambushed by the Japanese in Qiganling, Qinjiapo, Shaanxi, and died heroically.
Li Jiayu's son Li said that his father left him with the impression that 14 in the coffin queue was full of bullet holes, bloody woolen coats, round shoes soaked with blood, and "dying in the battlefield is a good end".
During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, Li Jiayu also forged a profound friendship with the Eighth Route Army. He summed up the actual combat experience and found that our army could not fight hard with the Japanese army because of the disparity between the enemy and ourselves. So he made friends with the Eighth Route Army, sent cadres to the Eighth Route Army to learn guerrilla tactics, and personally invited Liu Bocheng, the commander of the Eighth Route Army 129 Division, to teach strategy and tactics to cadres above the 47th battalion.
Smoke scattered on the flagpole and patriotism spread. Du, Long Zhonghua and other veteran comrades in Pujiang County believe that the evolution of General Li Jiayu from an old soldier to a model of patriotism is the call to unite people under special circumstances, that is, great patriotism. Today, this spiritual cohesion is the pillar of a strong country.
Now, the "General Li Jiayu showroom" has been built in the Party-masses Service Center in Luping Village, the hometown of the general. Village cadres told reporters that Li Jiayu's family pedigree, letters, inscriptions, suicide notes and other historical materials are all displayed here, which has become a patriotic education base for young people.
In the former residence of the general, Gao Tianfu, a neighbor of Lijiayu, produced a color-printing legend of 16. People often come here, and he is happy to be a volunteer commentator. I hope that this spirit of swearing to serve the country will be remembered and passed down by more people.
