Why have you eaten peaches and Kyoho grapes in Japanese season, and feel that peaches and grapes eaten by ordinary people are simply two different things?
Grape cultivation in Japan can be traced back to12nd century. At that time, a kind of European wild grape with huge fruit spikes was found in the shrine in Yamanashi-Numa area. It may be brought to Japan by monks who studied in China around the 8th century, or it may be left by medicinal seeds brought from China.

By the end of16th century, although this grape was not cultivated in a large area, a variety system adapted to the rainy climate in Japan was gradually screened out from its seedlings, and a high-quality cultivated variety, V. vinifera L. Koshu, was selected. During the Edo period (17th century), history first spread in Yamanashi, and then spread to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

The ear of the fruit is large (400-450g), conical, and the fruit grains are densely planted, with an average fruit grain weight of 8- 10g, oval, yellow-green, shiny, juicy, with rose fragrance and crisp flesh. The yield level is 18 ~ 20 tons/hectare.

Early maturity, dark color and good quality. Grain weight 14 ~ 18g (the maximum 20g), the peel is easy to peel, soft and juicy, with sugar content of 16% ~ 17%, less sour taste and typical flavor of Kyoho system. It is an induced seedless variety with huge fruit, good color and high quality.

The ear of fruit is huge, with an average of 600-800g, cylindrical and densely planted. Average grain weight16g or more, oval, yellow-green, juicy and sour. The yield level is 12 ~ 15t/ha. The grain weight was about 10 g, and the spike was soaked with 25 mg/L gibberellin 2 weeks after flowering, and the grain weight could reach12 g. The sugar content can reach 20%, and the acid content is low, the meat is hard and crisp, and it is not easy to peel and crack, and it is resistant to falling and storage and transportation. It has the high-quality characteristics of Eurasian grape, is easy to cultivate, has strong disease resistance, can induce seedlessness, can be eaten with skin and has good meat quality. It is a variety with strong potential strength.

A European-American hybrid was selected from Fujiminori seedlings in Ishikawa agricultural experimental field, with bright red skin, oversized seeds and no seeds.

Japanese peach varieties

What's the difference between peaches of different varieties and producing areas? Peaches are planted in many places in Japan and are divided into three categories: white peaches, red peaches and yellow peaches.

Because of the different planting environments in different regions, such as weather, soil, water sources, etc., the peaches planted will have different flavors or shapes, resulting in many different varieties. However, most peaches in Japan are famous for their sweetness, so the difference in taste is not very significant.

Peach produced in Yamanashi Prefecture has a high sugar content, which is used as a unit to measure the sugar content of fruit. However, peaches with higher sugar content will mature and deteriorate faster, so it is not easy to enjoy a whole box of peaches before they deteriorate.
