The spring breeze on both sides of the Dadu River blows green, and the orchids on the majestic and beautiful Emei Mountain are fragrant. This is the scenery of Guo Moruo's hometown.

On February 25th 1939 (the seventh day of the first lunar month) during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, Guo Moruo returned to his hometown of Leshan Province (Changsha) after 26 years' absence by seaplane, stayed in the city for one night, and then rushed back to Shawan Town, his birthplace, where he lived for 6 days. At that time, Guo Moruo was the director of the Third Hall of the Political Department of the Kuomintang Military Committee, shouldering the heavy responsibility of anti-Japanese propaganda, and went home to visit because his father was seriously ill; Besides, his mother has been dead for almost seven years. Therefore, he is deeply worried about his country and family. After his father died of illness, he went home twice and arranged funerals.

When Guo Moruo was in his hometown, his younger brother Guo Kaiyun painted chrysanthemums, lotus flowers and orchids. Guo Moruo wrote a unique poem for each theme. Among them, the poem "Bluegrass Flowers" was written for the third daughter of eldest brother Guo. The original text is:

Joan Rui Fang's skin has nine paths.

The fragrance of spearmint is more than fragrance.

Very clear, Chupercy Xiao Ai,

Don't complain about injustice to the world.

This poem was probably written in the early autumn of 1939. On the eve of the 15 Rambo Fair in China (Leshan), if you read his poems carefully, you will appreciate that the word "Qiongrui" compares orchids to rare and beautiful flowers. Wan, an ancient territorial unit. The word "nine secluded places" expresses the poem of Qu Yuan's Lisao: "I am the nine secluded places of orchid." Sewing and connecting; Pei, Pei ornaments. The word "Newpei" expresses the poem "Li Sao": "I think it is Pei." Guo Moruo knows that Emei Mountain is rich in orchids, and spearmint is known as "the fragrance of kings". The poem also implies that the niece not only appreciates the charm of orchids, but also smells their fragrance; Moreover, to learn the character of orchids, we must understand that we should never forget what others have taught us, and we should distinguish between love and hate. In fact, Guo Moruo personified orchids, praised them, showed deep affection, expressed his inner indignation at the Japanese invaders, and expressed his unshakable fighting spirit of "winning the war of resistance."

It is thrilling and exciting to revisit this poem now, which inevitably causes people to think about loving orchids and raising them. This poem can really be called Zanlan's good poem. Unfortunately, Guo Moruo has never been back to his hometown since he returned to his hometown three times in 1939. Zanlan's poem was left in his hometown more than 60 years ago.
