Yixing Zisha pottery, which began in the Song Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, is a wonderful work of China ceramic culture. Yixing, Jiangsu Province, is also called "Taodou" by later generations because of its mass production of purple sand pottery. Zisha pottery is made of local purple sand mud, with delicate texture and soft color. Purple mud is the first choice for making tea sets because of its unique material, excellent plasticity and repeatable processing.
