I have been studying history in China.
My name is Leo. I come from Australia, and I have been teaching in China for two years. I teach in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province. This is really an interesting city with a rich and colorful history. This city is influenced by some Europe, and many buildings in Harbin are in Russian style.
I have learned a lot about the history of my family since I came to China. Although I am Australian, my family is Jewish. So it is very interesting for me to learn that many Jews came to Harbin to live many years ago. My parents were very surprised when I told them about it in China. In fact, the first Jews probably came to Kaifeng more than 1000 years ago and were welcomed by the Emperor of the Song Dynasty.
When I lived in Australia, I studied history at school, but we usually studied Australian or western history. However, when I heard that I was going to work in China, I began to study the history of China. I have been studying for more than two years. My friends in Australia say that the history of China is difficult to understand, but I don't quite agree. I think if you study hard, you will be able to understand any culture. For a foreigner like me, the more I know about the history of China, the more I like living in China.
Although I live far from Beijing, I'm sure I'll be here for the 2008 Olympic Games.

I wish you progress in your studies and go up a storey still higher! (*^__^*)……
