Linxia is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious place with a population of 22 ethnic groups 1.96 million. The total population of the Hui nationality in Linxia Prefecture is about 61.000 million, among which the Hui nationality, Dongxiang nationality, Baoan nationality and Salar nationality believe in Islam, accounting for 56.4% of the whole population.
