After reading a famous book, what is your conclusion? Now let us write a thoughtful review. How to write your thoughts after reading to avoid writing a "running account"? The following is Lin Yutang's thoughts after reading "The Biography of Su Dongpo" that I carefully compiled. Welcome to read it. I hope you will like it. After reading "The Biography of Su Dongpo" by Lin Yutang Chapter 1
I have only read half of the book "The Biography of Su Dongpo", and I have a sufficient understanding of this great writer Su Dongpo. There are many place names mentioned in the book, too many to count, which also reminds us of Su Dongpo's wandering life.
What I love most in the book is Su Dongpo's hearty laughter - his laughter tells me many truths.
His smile was a self-satisfied smile. After he was demoted, enjoying the scenery became his greatest pleasure. Su Dongpo often wrote poems in front of the scenery. After finishing writing, he would always smile happily that he had completed another article. Su Dongpo's smile also contained a smile that did not care about others. In order to target him, the officials of the imperial court criticized him for provoking It is not surprising that Su Dongpo usually performed perfectly, but he picked on the bones of his articles; Su Shi obviously did not care about them, but even wrote the sentence "When will Feng Tang be sent?" There was no guilt in his words; Su Dongpo's smile, It's more of joy in suffering. Who is not depressed after being demoted? Just like you were suddenly demoted from team leader to ordinary member, no one will recognize your potential anymore.
Times make heroes. The reason why Su Dongpo has been in the discussion of ancient Chinese literary history for a long time is mostly because of the environment he lived in at that time, which created his high ideological and moral quality. It is precisely because Su Shi's thoughts are extraordinary that his works stand out from the crowd like a bright star.
I like his uncomplimentary and uncompromising character. Although he is impulsive and does things without "brain" thinking, it is precisely because of this that he is more charming. It is said in "Why Aren't You Angry, Chinese": "It's not good to think that you are a university professor, so doing research is more important; it's not good to think that you are a pig butcher, so no one will listen to you, nor is it good to think that you are a College students are not qualified to care about society's affairs. If you don't get angry today and stand up, tomorrow I and your next generation will become silent victims and victims of Su Shi's fierce behavior! Character had a great influence on that time and our future generations. He told us: we cannot let those bad things continue. To stop them, there must be a leader to stop them. No one wants to suffer losses to their own interests, and no one wants to be the first person. Anyone with some sense will not do that. It was precisely because Su Dongpo was "brainless" that he decided to be the leader. .
Despite the ups and downs in his official career, offending many people and being demoted many times, Su Dongpo was still enveloped in happiness. He has a wife who loves him very much, a brother who depends on him for life and death, a friend who accompanies him, Wang Anshi who is either an enemy or a friend, and many good officials in the court. The most touching thing there is the emperor and the queen. The queen attaches great importance to Su Dongpo's literary talent. Every time Su Dongpo makes a mistake, the queen always intercedes for him; the emperor is extremely strict with Su Dongpo. He values ????Su Dongpo's literary talent, but because Su Dongpo does things without thinking , frankly speaking, the emperor was afraid that he would offend the high officials one day, so he demoted Su Dongpo.
I will always have a heart of admiration for Su Dongpo. I love his sincerity, sincere friendship and outspokenness. If I have such relatives, friends or classmates around me, I will cherish it very much! "The Biography of Su Dongpo" by Lin Yutang Chapter 2
Looking at the dark moon and high wind, I read "The country is like a picture, and there are so many heroes at one time"...
December 10th, the third year of Jingyou's reign, Renzong of the Song Dynasty On the 9th, Su Shi was born in Meishan, Meizhou. His father Su Xun and mother Cheng cared deeply for Su Shi and his younger brother Su Zhe. When Su Shi was 18, he married 15-year-old Miss Wang Fu, and the family went to Beijing to take the exam. After passing the Jinshi examination, Su Shi's mother died of illness. When he went to Beijing again, Su Shi was appointed as the school secretary, but he had to say goodbye to his younger brother. In the fourth year of Xining, Su Shi wrote a letter discussing the shortcomings of the new law, which aroused Wang Anshi's anger. Forced to have no choice but to take a post in Beijing, Su Shi came to his "second hometown" Hangzhou. Later, the villain of the court seized on his articles and imprisoned Su Shi in the name of "satirizing the government" and "betraying the royal family"... But this could not defeat Su Shi. After being released from prison, Su Shi was ordered to go to Ruzhou to take office.
In his later years, Su Shi was demoted to the remote "Southern Wasteland" and eventually died on the return ship, ending his life full of lofty ideals.
"Disasters and misfortunes did not dull his perception of the spiritual wisdom of life, and hardships and hardships never dulled his keen insight into life." Su Shi's talent and wisdom are not comparable to anyone. The light shines brightly when the sky is clear, and the mountain scenery is also strange when the sky is covered with rain." The flow of fine wine in the mouth stirs up the majesty of "the great river goes eastward, and the waves are washed away, and the romantic figures of the ages", or in the bright moonlight, the gentle breeze When brushing his cheeks, he turned around and sighed calmly, "I hope that life will last forever, and that thousands of miles will lead to the beauty of the moon"...
Su Dongpo's optimism is a science, but not everyone can learn his superb attitude. Be open-minded. When he faced false accusations, frame-ups, and demotions over and over again, have you ever seen a trace of grief or anger flash across his face? Su Shi was a strange man who could give advice and make a living by farming. Even though he was demoted to the remote Hainan Island in his sixties, he still maintained Liu Yuxi's optimistic attitude of "a humble house is not a humble one" and his childlike innocence. Dongpo meat, oysters...aren't these delicious foods adding a little splendor to his life?
Mr. Lin Yutang said: "Su Dongpo is dead, and his name is just a memory. But what he left to us is the joy of his soul and the happiness of his thoughts. This is the eternal "Whether it is the kind-hearted Su Dongpo or the upright Su Shi, this veritable "god of poetry" has achieved the goal of "not letting misfortunes and blessings change his concern for the country, and he can remain vigorous and awe-inspiring for thousands of years", setting a good example for future generations. Set a good benchmark!
Looking at the picturesque mountains and rivers, savoring "Life is like a dream, a statue still shines in the moonlight over the river"... "The Biography of Su Dongpo" Lin Yutang's Commentary 3
It took about six nights to finish reading Lin Yutang's "The Biography of Su Dongpo". During these six days, I always fell asleep thinking about Su Dongpo and woke up thinking about Su Dongpo. It was particularly fulfilling and wonderful.
Su Dongpo was born in the third year of Jingyou reign of Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty. He lived through Renzong, Zhezong and Huizong, and witnessed the transition from prosperity to decline of recitation. Understanding the life of Su Dongpo also taught me the history of the demise of the Song Dynasty.
For a person like Su Dongpo, no matter how many words of praise are used to describe him, it is in vain. He is versatile and has a wide range of hobbies. He is competent in any field, and he is kind and magnanimous. How can such a person not be respected by others? As Lin Yutang wrote, Su Dongpo is an optimist whose temperament is hard to change, a moralist who is compassionate and compassionate. A good friend of the common people, he is a prose writer, a new painter, a great calligrapher, an experimenter in brewing wine, an engineer, an opponent of false Taoism, a practitioner of yoga, a Buddhist, and a scholar-official. He is the secretary of the emperor, a drunkard, a kind-hearted judge, a political stickler, a wanderer under the moon, a poet, and a person who is witty and loves to joke.
I would like to record some of the most unforgettable places in the book, which made me close the book and toss and turn, admiring them so much that I couldn’t sleep.
When Su Dongpo was a Hanlin scholar, he drafted eight hundred imperial edicts, all of which were sonorous, well-crafted, concise and clear. Often quoted from scriptures and rich in examples and metaphors. After Su Dongpo's death, another person took over his position and had high expectations for his own literary talent. He asked the old servant who served Su Dongpo at that time, how was he compared to Su Dongpo? The old servant replied: "Su Dongpo's writing is not necessarily more beautiful than that of adults, but he never has to look up books."
Lin Yutang is so humorous, and the humanitarian spirit at the end is really making people laugh. The author praises others for criticizing Other people's voices are so intriguing, just like Su Shi himself. It would be nice if everyone spoke with such humor. I read "The Biography of Lin Yutang" a few years ago. Lin Yutang not only loved writing, but also loved research and invented the Chinese typewriter. This is very similar to Su Shi. But as Lin Yutang himself said, the final judgment of a person is final. Su Shi did not let the people criticize him at all until the end of his life. Lin Yutang was too corrupt at Nanyang University and his life was in danger. The author seems to have forgotten to learn from Su Dongpo. .
When I was a student, I also learned some poems and essays by Su Shi. I also heard those anecdotes from the teacher, but I didn’t feel deeply about them, and I didn’t even understand them. This time I read the biography and realized them deeply. Su Shi's life was full of ups and downs. The creative background of each poem was different, so we can't just understand the meaning of the poem itself.
I also thought that if the teacher talked about how great Su Shi was in class, the students would probably be indifferent.
To have impact and feelings, you have to experience it yourself, read his biography and memorize his poems. Hearsays are heard in one ear and in the other. Learning can only be done proactively.
Using history as a mirror and people as a mirror, I am very happy to spend six nights in my life with a writer from the Song Dynasty. I am willing to devote more time to continue to understand him. This book was borrowed, and it became the reason why I read it at night by candlelight. "The Biography of Su Dongpo" Lin Yutang's Thoughts after Reading Chapter 4
I haven't finished the book yet, so I am slowly turning the pages. Lin Yutang's book was originally written in English. Zhang Zhenyu's translation was pretty good, but rough spots can be seen everywhere, such as in the first chapter of Volume 1:
One day, Su Dongpo wrote to a friend: " The greatest joy in my life is when I am writing and writing, my pen can express all the complicated emotions in my heart. I say that there is no greater joy in life than this. "This passage is very strange, and I then searched it on the Internet. After publishing an article by a master from the end of the world, I realized that the original text should be: "A certain person has never had any pleasant things in his life, but he only writes articles, and his writing skills are full of twists and turns wherever he goes. He claims that there is no more happiness in the world than this."
There is another BUG that even the Tianya master did not mention. The foreshadowing in Chapter 7 of Volume 2, "Zhongyue Songshan Mountain Collapse", echoes in Chapter 9, and has become "Nanyue Huashan Mountain Collapse". . Where are the errors in these two places? Is it a translation error, an error in the original manuscript, or a proofreading error? I'm afraid I need to find the original English version to check. But "Nanyue Huashan" itself is a mistake. Huashan seems to have never been called "Nanyue".
Let’s put aside these small flaws.
Su Dongpo’s reputation has spread for nearly a thousand years. He was praised by his time and admired by his descendants. On the one hand, he was gifted and outstanding in all fields of poetry, literature, calligraphy and painting; on the other hand, he was talented in poetry, literature, calligraphy and painting. On the other hand, his personality charm, political stance, and philosophical cultivation are also extremely consistent with the ideals of the Chinese people. It is obviously not a good idea to write a biography for such a perfect person, and given the rich historical data and the negative reviews, it makes sense that this biography lacks novelty. Lin Yutang said in the preface, "I think I know Su Dongpo completely, precisely because I understand him, and I understand him precisely because I like him." Since Su Shi has entrusted his own outlook on life, his preference is even more undisguised.
The second volume describes Su Dongpo’s experiences in his prime, and his entanglement with Wang Anshi takes up a long space. In the two sections "Wang Anshi's Reform" and "Ao Xianggong", Wang Anshi is the protagonist, and Su Dongpo becomes a minor supporting role. This chapter seems to be outside the whole book. I think the purpose of Lin Yutang's disparagement of Wang Anshi was not to promote Su Shi, but more to express his views on history. This also applies to the praise of Sima Guang. In fact, history does not matter the truth, and it is difficult to distinguish between pure and dirty politics. It is like a mirror, and everyone has a different face when they look at it. This part can be compared with Bo Yang's book. They are two completely contradictory opinions. Unlike Su Shi, Wang Anshi has always been full of controversy. This has been the case in history, and it is still the case today.
Lin Yutang himself is also a controversial figure, but his talents are generally recognized. This biography of Su Dongpo also contains refreshing and witty quotes from time to time. For example, when I read Chapter 16 of Volume 3, there was this sentence:
If philosophy has any use, it is to make people laugh at themselves.
There are many others like this, but without the context, it loses a lot of flavor just by looking at it.
