What are the legends about quarrying?

Chang Yuchun and Caishiji (Legendary Story)

Before the Yuan Dynasty, the heroes were separatist, and the rebel army was surging. Zhu Yuanzhang led his army to attack Chuzhou and quarry stones, aiming directly at Jiqing (today's Nanjing). The battle of Caishi was an important battle for Zhu Yuanzhang's army to turn the corner.

Quarrying is a natural barrier for Jiqing. To attack Jiqing, quarrying must be done first.

Early that morning, it was just raining and clearing, and the red sun was in the sky. Zhu Yuanzhang's fleet rode the wind and waves and headed straight for quarrying. As soon as the ship left the river mouth, General Liao Yong'an came to ask for instructions, "When the army is crossing the river, where should the ship stop?" Zhu Yuanzhang replied: "Niuzhuji on the other side is in front of the river and is a good place to park warships."

< p>At this time, gusts of north wind blew on the river. The boat took advantage of the wind and came through the waves like flying, and quickly approached the Niuzhu River. However, what Zhu Yuanzhang never expected was that at this time, the Yuan army on Niuzhuji was as tightly guarded as an iron barrel. The Yuan Dynasty general guarding Ji, Manzi Hague, stood on the rock with weapons in hand, wanting to fight Zhu Yuanzhang to the death.

Zhu Yuanzhang put the warship in a straight line and asked loudly to his subordinates: "Whoever can board Jitou first, I will designate him as the vanguard!"

Young man General Guo Ying responded, led his men and horses, and rushed to the foot of Jiji. Just when he was about to board the rock, he saw arrows raining down on the rock, and the soldiers fell into the water one after another. At this critical moment, Zhu Yuanzhang's deputy general Chang Yuchun Arriving in front of him in a spaceship, Zhu Yuanzhang raised his hand and said to Chang Yuchun: "General Chang has come at the right time. Aren't you taking the lead and taking the lead? Now is the opportunity!"

Zhu Yuanzhang immediately raised his flag. With one move, Chang Yuchun roared, holding a shield in his left hand and a spear in his right hand, he jumped up and stepped on the rock. At this time, Guo Ying and Hu Dahai, who had already captured Jixia, swarmed up under the command of Zhu Yuanzhang, slashed and stabbed with swords, and killed the Yuan army before they fled in panic.

The "big footprints" that are now a tourist attraction at the foot of Caishiji are said to have been left by Chang Yuchun who used too much force when he climbed to the rock.
