The "hand in hand" mutual assistance activity began in the early 1990s and was initiated by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the National Youth Working Committee and relevant departments. Guiding children to unite and help each other and make progress together is a meaningful practical education activity. Children in urban and rural areas hold hands, children in rich and poor areas hold hands, healthy and disabled children hold hands, and children of all ethnic groups hold hands, so that children from different environments and circumstances can build a bridge of communication. Hand in hand is widely carried out among children all over the country through five specific activities, such as making a "good friend hand in hand", writing a "friend letter hand in hand", sending a good book, newspaper or stationery, doing a good deed for a small partner, and visiting a small partner conditionally.
Young Pioneers are an important position for children's socialization. "Hand in hand" not only concretizes and deepens this function, but also makes up for some deficiencies in school and family education:
First, "hand in hand" helps children to pay attention to people and things outside themselves and around them, which is of great significance in today's "one-child society" for urban children in China.
Second, "hand in hand" helps children to know more about objective things, especially the practice of "attention", so that children can gain more life experience and experience.
