1, main business
The main business of express delivery company is to receive and send express mail, taking the express mail with the weight of 1 kg as an example. The cost of 5 yuan (single 2 yuan, delivery fee 1 yuan, delivery fee 1 yuan, other fees 1 yuan) is generally 10 yuan for customers, and the express station can earn 5 yuan.
At the same time, the heavier the express mail, the more fees need to be charged. Different companies have different standards, generally 6-8 yuan/kg, while the payment cost of express delivery station is only 1 yuan/kg. In addition, the franchisee will also pay a commission of 1 yuan for each courier delivered by the courier station.
2. Advertising business
The area responsible for the express delivery point has a strong directivity. For example, some express delivery points only face the community, so some enterprises mainly engaged in community business, such as health care product sellers, education and training institutions, are willing to cooperate with express delivery points.
3. Sales business
Sales business mainly refers to the sales of packaging boxes, generally in 2 yuan -2.5 yuan, with gross profit margin between 100%- 150%. A courier receives 100 pieces of express mail almost every day. A courier station generally has four or five couriers, that is, four or five hundred express mails. Most customers don't prepare express parcels themselves, and the gross profit of sales is 300-400 yuan a day, 10,000 yuan a month and several hundred thousand yuan a year.
4. Other businesses
The biggest resource of express station is a distribution network. For enterprises and households in the region, occasionally do some part-time food delivery content, such as helping some take-away enterprises to deliver food during lunch break. Although it is not the mainstream, it also earns several thousand yuan a month, which is enough for the express station to offset the management fees, rental fees, utilities and other expenses.
China express delivery enterprises are divided into four categories:
The first category is foreign express delivery enterprises, including FedEx, DHL, TNT and UPS. Foreign express delivery companies have rich experience, abundant funds and developed global networks.
The second category is state-owned express delivery enterprises, including China Post (EMS), Civil Aviation Express (CAE) and China Railway Express (CRE). With its background advantages and perfect domestic network, state-owned express delivery enterprises are in a leading position in the domestic express delivery market.
The third category is large private express delivery enterprises, including Jingdong Logistics, SF Express, ZJS, Shentong Express, Dayun Express, Tong Yuan Express, Sure Express, KYE Express, etc. After gaining a foothold in the local market, large private express delivery enterprises gradually expand to the whole country.
The fourth category is small private express delivery enterprises, which are small in scale and flexible in operation, but chaotic in management. They are mainly engaged in express delivery in the same city and express delivery in specific regions and provinces.
Matters needing attention
1. Read the endorsement clause of the waybill before filling it out.
The waybill and endorsement are transportation contracts signed by consumers and express delivery companies. Because there is no legal norm or judicial interpretation of the express delivery industry contract, most local courts adopt the economic contract law. However, even if all judgments are based on the provisions of the Economic Contract Law, the judgment results of each court are different.
Therefore, consumers must carefully read the insurance, compensation and exemption clauses before posting. If it is a customer with a large amount of express mail every day, it is recommended to sign a courier contract with the courier company to protect their legitimate interests.
When filling in the waybill, you should accurately fill in the contact telephone number and address of the sender and the recipient, otherwise it may bring trouble to the delivery, or you can't find the return address and sender when returning the express mail.
2. Buy insurance for valuables.
Items with a general value of more than 2000 yuan, such as mobile phones, watches, computers, cameras, jewelry, high-end clothing, works of art, etc. It is recommended to buy insurance. And fill in the name of the insured goods, the insured amount and value correctly in the column of the name of the insured goods to avoid disputes when making claims, and at the same time, the declared value should also be truthfully filled in.
Some express transportation insurances have deductibles. For example, the declared insured amount is 5,000 yuan, but the actual loss may only be 4,700 yuan, of which 300 yuan is the deductible. So be sure to consult the courier company and ask it to provide a written explanation if necessary.
The premium rate is generally between 0. 1%- 1%. If the premium rate is too high, it is recommended to compare it with the prices and premiums of other courier companies before weighing it.
3. Sign for the courier and save the waybill.
When giving the express to the courier, you should sign the waybill yourself, and the signature should be consistent with the badge you are wearing. This is a handover with legal significance. The waybill is not only a transport contract, but also a delivery certificate of express mail. Never throw it away before it is delivered to the sender.
4. Sign for it after inspection.
For parcel express delivery, carefully check the outer packaging when receiving it to see if there are any signs of disassembly and pollution. According to the standard of courier service, the courier company has the obligation to let the recipient open the box and check the goods before signing for it. If some courier companies do not implement this standard, they can choose to refuse the visa.
If the goods are badly needed and the courier company refuses to accept the unpacking inspection, the waybill may be marked with instructions such as "The contents of the goods have not been unpacked for inspection". For e-commerce "online shopping" goods, you can agree with the seller on the terms of unpacking inspection and ask the seller to write it on the waybill.
If there is any shortage or damage after unpacking inspection, you can return the goods or ask the courier to write a written proof and take photos, and immediately call the customer service staff of the merchant or courier company (remember the names or numbers of the customer service staff and courier).
