Is it true that house prices go up wherever programmers move?
With the rise of Internet entrepreneurship, engineers, as the core of the Internet, have gradually entered the public eye. But I don't know why, programmers don't have a particularly good impression in many people's hearts. Sloppy, shiny and plaid shirts and shorts seem to be synonymous with programmers.

On the other hand, other positions in the same company, such as product, operation and market positions, will not leave a bad impression on people. As a programmer, I have to think about this question: why is the income not lower than others, but why is the image not as good as others? In that case, what is the significance of our efforts? Where is our future?

Programmer background

If you want to think about this problem thoroughly, you can't avoid the fundamental problem of birth.

When I left my hometown where I was raised for more than ten years and embarked on the road of studying in Guangzhou, I only had 800 yuan's living expenses every month. And this is actually quite a good living condition, more than my classmates with poor living conditions. When the problem of eating has just been solved and there is no spare money, people are unable to pursue higher material enjoyment.

During my four years in college, I concentrated on how to study hard and find a job to support my family. As a result, my university can be said to be relatively dull, and I often read with gay friends in the study room until after ten o'clock in the evening. Now, sometimes for a moment, I feel that I have wasted my good time in college and didn't spend some time to learn some talents. But when you think about it, it's really helpless. Eating is a problem, how can we pursue spiritual enjoyment?

I believe that many friends who choose to study computer, like me, are not from wealthy families, but more from ordinary families. There is a very good saying: the poor study engineering, the middle class studies business, and the rich study art.

For the vast majority of ordinary people, the reasonable routine is: the first generation learns science and technology, has a skill, settles down and lays a good foundation;

Only the second generation can study finance and business, and they can use the resources and contacts of the first generation to strengthen capital accumulation;

Finally, the third generation studied humanities and social sciences. With the foundation of the first two generations, they also know how to maintain their own resources for a long time. According to my observation, the programmers around me do come from ordinary families, and some even are children in the mountains.

For people with no background and connections, they have a skill, and settling down is the most important thing.

The essence of programmers

After graduating from college, my salary is passable, but at least I can support myself. And in the next few years, my salary has been increasing, at least now I don't need to worry about survival. But later I found myself as if I had nothing but work, no interest, no hobbies, no talent and no activities.

I want to enrich my spare time, learn a talent and cultivate a hobby, but I find that time is never enough. At this point, I gradually realized the essence of the programmer industry. Programmers have more money, but they also work overtime and have less spare time. In the long run, the whole person's communicative competence will gradually deteriorate, and people's life will become somewhat boring.

In addition to working hours, work content is also a boring aspect. The programmer's content is all kinds of boring business logic and machines, and technical problems need to be settled down to understand in depth. If your life is too wonderful, how can you settle down and do such a boring thing?

So the essence of programmers is to sell their time and skills for money. He can be said to be a senior mechanic, but he is comfortable.

Why are programmers unpopular?

Moonlight Blog, a well-known technology blogger, once wrote an article "Why programmers have low social status", which profoundly expounded the reasons why programmers are unpopular.

Programmers' self-esteem and self-awareness are too low. There is a phenomenon to prove this: programmers hate each other. They usually attack other programmers in front of non-programmers. Giving one programmer's code to another often, often, the latter will give the former a negative evaluation of his work. Artists don't do that. Salespeople don't do that. Managers don't do that. Politicians do this only to win votes.

Other professionals will openly support their peers, even if there is competition. For example, lawyers, please don't ask me why America is actually ruled by these bastards. In a word, people in these industries mentioned above all have bigger careers and are proud of their jobs and industries.

Programmers don't pursue flashy titles, sexy ceremonies and awards, and they hate the spotlight.

Programmers like programming. They want to program separately. Programming is their goal, their politics and their glory. They are not interested in public speaking. They hate people who are not as clever as they are. They hate people who don't understand C++ programming logic.

So he began to convince himself that he was naturally introverted. So he is afraid of going out, answering the phone, going to bars, meeting strangers and all activities that can establish social relations and social status for him.

The future of programmers

There are three levels to make money, the first level is to exchange time for money, the second level is to exchange resources for money, and the third level is to make money with money. As a programmer, I am obviously still in the stage of exchanging time for money, so I will still live as a programmer for a long time. At this stage, we accumulate technology and resources to prepare for the next stage.

When we have enough technical strength and network resources, we may not have to do front-line code work, but we can make money more easily by using the resources we have. If you still like coding at this time, you can do what you want more freely. At this stage, your life must be more interesting than hard work.

When the wealth you get from resources reaches an order of magnitude, you can get the material conditions you need through investment, which is the real lying to make money. At this stage, you can really say that you are a free man. I think, at this stage, your dream and your understanding of the world will definitely be very different.

Just graduated, looking at tens of thousands of housing prices. I look confused and can't see hope. I complain about high housing prices every day. But when I figured out my future path, I was relieved at the present stage. The coming will always come, the falling house price will always fall, the rising income will always rise and there will always be opportunities. Just like ten years ago, they were always said to be brain-dead, and they were said to be the' 90s generation of the beat generation, but they have not yet stepped into the society and acted as the backbone of society.

In fact, looking back, programmers are still a very lucky group, and there is such a smooth road for you to work hard. Look at those students majoring in machinery and food. I have been working for three years, and it is estimated that I am still wandering for thousands of dollars. Thinking of this, I am grateful that this era has given me such an opportunity.

I figured out the way I want to go in the future, work hard, eat and play. Do what you should do, strive to enrich your life, and believe that life will get better and better.
