Zou Yan (about 324 BC-250 BC) was a Qi native in the early Warring States Period. Zou Yan Temple was built in Zhangqiu City (now Xiuhui Town), so it is a native of Zhangqiu. The main activity period is from (Tian) to King Qixiang. Zou Yan didn't talk for the sake of talking. He regards it as a means to meet the current political needs. The core of his theory is the theory of "five virtues ending in the beginning" based on yin and yang and five elements. Zou Yan believes that human society has been circulating in the order of five virtues since the division of heaven and earth. The transmission of the five virtues is modeled after the five elements of nature, namely, earth, earth, Jin Kemu, fire, gold and water. The historical changes of human society, like nature, are also dominated by five material elements: earth, wood, gold, fire and water. The emergence of a dynasty in Shanghai in history reflects a necessity. Zou Yan said: "The second time of five virtues, it is invincible, so it is the danger of soil and summer wood" ("Huai Nan Zi Qi Su Xun" is quoted from Zou Zi). Shan Li quoted the "Seven Views" in Selected Works of Wei Du: "Zou Zi has five virtues and is invincible, followed by Mude, Jinde, Huode and Shuide." "Lu Chunqiu Yingtong" is more specific: "The emperor will prosper, and the sky will see the people first. When the Yellow Emperor, God saw the big cockroach. The yellow emperor said:' rustic spirit wins!' The earthiness wins, so its color is still yellow, and its content is earthy. In Yu's time, God didn't kill plants in autumn and winter. Yu Yue said, "Wood gas wins!" Wood gas wins, so its color is Shang Qing, and its matter is wood. At the time of soup, the golden blade was born in water. Tang Yue said:' The banner won!' Gold wins, so the color is still white, and business is gold. , and the king of Wen, see the fire first, Hong Niao hold Dan book in Zhou She. King Wen said; Internal heat will win! Internal heat wins, so its color is still red, and its content is fire. The substitute of fire will bring water, and the sky and water will prevail. Water vapor wins, so its color is still black, and its substance is water. According to modern scholars' research, the above quotation belongs to Zou Yan's lost writings, which at least embodies the spirit of Zou Yan's theory. Zou Yan's theory laid a theoretical foundation for Qi Min to be called the East Emperor and Yan Zhaowang to be called the North Emperor, so it is not difficult to understand that he was treated and reused by them. This theory was later accepted by Qin Shihuang to serve his throne and rule. Historical Records by Feng Chan, a historian, said: "Zou Zi's disciples finally talked about the life of the five virtues, and the Qin Emperor played it before the emperor adopted it." The textual research of Wang Yinglin's History of Han Art and Literature said: "Dong Lailu said:' Fang Zou Yan pushed the luck of five virtues, and people regarded it, especially the end of Yin and Yang, if there was no prediction of chaos. When it was adopted by the first emperor, it was designated as Shuide. It is believed that the rule of water virtue is firm and resolute, everything is in accordance with the law, benevolence and righteousness are cut, and then the number of five virtues is combined. So ... You are in a hurry, and you are too young to forgive for a long time! Zou Yan's theory of "five virtues" holds that human society is constantly changing and has its own rationality. However, it falls into the mechanism to explain it with the theory that the five elements generate each other and resist each other. As for Qin Shihuang's "managing water by virtue", Zou Yan was not at fault. Another important theory of Zou Yan is the Kyushu Theory.
