Goddess of humanity and history
One hundred years has become history. History is time memory, time experience and time revelation. Here, the author will take you to explore the ocean of history and tell the strange case of Sanxiaodong in Emei, Sichuan Province, which happened a hundred years ago.

Mr. Lu Xun once said: "There is no road in the world, and more people will become a road." By the same token, all the famous mountains and rivers in the world are natural things, static and silent. It was deliberately developed by human beings, put on the shell of human nature, became famous and popular, and finally became a world-famous mountain and river. San Xiao in Emei, Sichuan is no exception. At that time, the world only knew the name of Emei in Pu Xian Dojo, but did not know the name of San Xiao Cave. San Xiao Cave is located at the famous Jiuxian Cave12km in Emei Mountain. At that time, it was overgrown with weeds and inaccessible. 1in the summer of 925, a Buddhist monk, while passing by Sanxiao Cave, took a fancy to the natural beauty here, and chose to stay and build the Niangniang Temple in Sanxiao Cave, where he taught people Zen and Buddhism at the foot of the mountain.

Three small holes in Emei

Since we want to build a temple, we must build a road leading to the foot of the mountain. These two items add up to a lot of money. After six months of hard work, Master Sakyamuni raised all the funds for building roads and temples, and built a Buddhist temple outside San Xiao Cave. There are statues of three goddesses, Xiao Yun, Xiao Qiong and Bixiao, and a statue of Guanyin in the cave. As the saying goes, the mountain is not high and not famous. In this way, the San Xiao Cave in Emei became famous gradually because of the development of the empty mage.

Inside Sanxiaodong

And there is an old saying: be a monk for a day and hit the bell for a day. No clock can build a temple. /kloc-in the autumn of 0/928, Master Yan Kong returned to his hometown, Ziliujing, Fushun County, Sichuan Province (at that time, Ziliujing was under the jurisdiction of Fushun) to talk about Buddhism and Taoism. After learning that there was no bell in Sanxiaodong Niangniang Temple, local Buddhist people all expressed their willingness to jointly donate to cast a bronze bell and send it to the temple. It is also agreed that the bronze bell will be sent to the temple with Buddha ceremony in the early summer of the following year. Master Yan Kong was full of feelings about this and returned to the temple happily. 1929, on May 18th of the lunar calendar, more than 70 believers in Ziliujing set off firecrackers and sent brand-new red bronze bells as gifts to the Niangniang Temple in Sanxiaodong, Emei.

Master Yankong greeted the bell with pleasure and entertained everyone with green tea and vegetarian food. After all the people had finished eating, it was near dusk. Besides playing cards and chess, the believers in San Xiao Cave are entertained, and Anbang Liu, the leader of the believers who sing Sichuan Opera, also plays drums and sings Sichuan Opera in the cave. For a time, in the ancient cave, which is more than 5 meters high, 2 14 meters deep and 6 meters wide, the candlelight is bright, the voices are noisy, and the drums are loud and lively. The so-called calm lake surface is often a dangerous undercurrent vortex. When Anbang Liu invited the actress to sing the song "Three Clouds Swing the Yellow River Array" in the cave, a strange roar of "rumble" suddenly came from the depths of the ancient cave.

At this moment, a strange flame came out of the cave.

Then it was too late, but it was too soon. In an instant, all the bright candles lit at the mouth of the cave went out, and then a flame with a strange smell spewed out from the rock wall of the cave and rushed out of the hole quickly through the heads of the believers. Accompanied by this strange spectacle, 64 people in the cave were killed on the spot, including the master performer. Five other people, including Anbang Liu, the leader of the believers, were stunned by the flame air billow rushing out of the hole just because it was convenient to get out of the hole before the spectacle happened. Fortunately, they saved their lives.

The sight in the cave made everyone feel terrible.

After they woke up in a coma, they went into the cave and saw such a tragic scene: the believers and performers in the cave all showed their twisted limbs and collapsed in the cave with their faces blue. Trembling with fear, they immediately ran down the hill and reported the situation to the government. Yu Wenshou, the county magistrate of Emei, was equally terrified after receiving the report. He immediately asked his men to send a letter asking Pei Ruiqing, the county magistrate of Fushun, to discuss and investigate the bizarre tragedy of Sanxiaodong.

The government ended in myth.

After Pei Ruiqing's letter arrived, the two sides jointly sent people to Sanxiao Cave to investigate the case. But I haven't found the reason for a long time. This makes Yu Wenshou and Pei Ruiqing, two county magistrates, under great pressure and headache. As the parents of the two places, 64 people died at once. The way is very strange. There must be a saying. In the end, the county magistrate and the provincial government of the two places hastily gave such a final conclusion about this bizarre tragedy: because the believers were too noisy, they collided with the goddess of Sanxiaodong and were severely punished. Such a conclusion must be very superstitious to us today. Fortunately, Fan, an old teacher at West China University at that time, was not sure of the government's final judgment on the tragedy.

The culprit of the tragedy is the miasma in the cave.

He took his students to San Xiao Cave in Emei where the tragedy happened. After some on-the-spot investigation, he came to such a scientific conclusion: The reason for the tragedy was not that the goddess of San Xiao Cave appeared, but that there were too many candles in the narrow space of the ancient cave and too many people gathered at the same time, and people kept making noise, singing operas and drumming. In this way, excessive fireworks and excessive noise shook the Millennium miasma contained in ancient cave rocks, and miasma came out of the rock wall and exploded violently when it met fireworks. 64 people in the cave died instantly because of exposure to thick poisonous miasma and explosion.

Explain the reason of this strange case scientifically.

The early 20th century was an era of scientific development. Teacher Fan's scientific conclusion was recognized by the society after it was published. At that time, under the pressure of public opinion, the Sichuan provincial government also affirmed this, and publicly ordered officials in Emei and Fushun counties to do a good job in the aftermath of the tragedy. Here, the author thanks Mr. Fan for his scientific exploration, so that the world can understand the scientific essence behind the tragedy, thus avoiding the recurrence of similar tragedies.

Prosperous tourism

What happened in the past can be Yin Jian. Nowadays, with the continuous improvement of people's living standards, tourism is also very prosperous. While vigorously developing tourism and increasing GDP, all localities should also do a good job in ensuring that people can travel safely and freely and feel the beauty of the motherland's mountains and rivers.
