1925 In mid-May, a strike broke out in Shanghai, and worker leader Gu Zhenghong was killed. The students rallied to demonstrate and were shot and killed by a British patrol in the concession. Because of the tragedy on May 30th, 13 people died and dozens were seriously injured.
On June 1925 and 19, in order to support the May 30th anti-imperialist patriotic movement of the people of Shanghai, a large-scale and longest-lasting strike broke out in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. It lasted for 1, 4 months until the beginning of 1, 926, which was the longest strike in the history of world labor movement before 1980s, and also the longest labor movement in the history of China.
