Kangqiao Town is located in the northwest of Nanhui District. 1In May, 1992, the county party committee and government of Nanhui County of the Communist Party of China designated five villages of Kangqiao, Hehe, Huaqiang, Xiunan and Sanjiao in the north of Zhouxi Town to build Kangqiao Industrial Park in Pudong, Shanghai. 1994 The town was built in September, and Zhouxi Town was renamed as Kangqiao Town. In July 2000, with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Kangqiao Town and Hengmian Town were abolished and merged to form a new Kangqiao Town.
