According to the changes of the situation and tasks, all the congresses after the Second National Congress (except the Fifth National Congress) have revised party constitution to varying degrees. Due to the special circumstances at that time, the Fifth National Congress did not revise party constitution, and the Political Bureau of the Central Committee revised party constitution after the meeting.

The current party constitution was revised by the Twelfth National Congress of the Communist Party of China in September 1982. In the past 30 years, on the premise of keeping the basic content of party constitution stable, the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China revised party constitution to varying degrees.

Party constitution formulated by the Seventh National Congress of 1945 is the party constitution independently formulated by China's * * * Production Party after the dissolution of 1943 * * Production International, marking the full maturity of China's * * Production Party in politics and party building.
