See the ancient city, the ancient villages, the ancient bridges and the ancient roads, and enjoy the strange mountains, strange waters, local customs and customs all the way. This is a summary of my visit to the ancient river road. Before that, I mainly introduced the ancient cities and villages along the ancient river road. This paper mainly introduces some ancient bridges and roads left on the ancient river road.
Friends who know me know that I am an ancient bridge lover. I have visited hundreds of ancient bridges in Guangdong, and it is worthwhile to come to an area with a large number of ancient bridges and rich forms like Xiaohe Ancient Road, even if it is only for the sake of ancient bridges.
There are many covered bridges in China. At present, there are thousands of ancient covered bridges, mainly distributed in six covered bridges. Southern Hunan and northern Guangxi, where the ancient river road is located, are the areas where covered bridges are concentrated. Among them, 27 Ming and Qing covered bridges were packaged and included in the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units "Fuchuan Yaoyufengqiao Group". I was in a hurry for this trip, and I was able to punch 22 cards, setting a record for searching for 18 storm bridge in one day. In addition to the wind and rain bridge, there are other ancient bridges on the ancient river road, many of which are simple in shape and beautiful in appearance.
Daoxian Wutian Yufeng Bridge
Wutian Wind and Rain Bridge in Daoxian County on the ancient river road is said to be the earliest stone double-arch wind and rain bridge discovered in Hunan Province. In the third year of Guangxu reign (1877), the Records of Daozhou recorded: "Yongmingguan Road was built in front of Wutian Village, 25 miles southwest of the state, and Zhu Mingyuan, a resident of Song Chun, advocated building and building houses on it. Tang Yong, a native of Zhangzhou Township, Yongzheng, Qing Dynasty. " In other words, this storm bridge was built in Song Chun (124 1- 1252).
800 years later, this ancient bridge is still there. Although it has been rebuilt many times, it still benefits local villagers. People, like their ancestors, walked across the bridge and worked, rested and communicated on it.
Jiangyong County Goulan Yaozhai Yufeng Bridge
There are three beautiful wind and rain bridges in Goulan Yaozhai. Peiyuan Bridge is located at the entrance to the village. It was built in the 22nd year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1896), and now it is also listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province.
The wind and rain bridge at the bridgehead of Goulan Yaozhai has a history of more than 400 years and is the oldest wind and rain bridge in the village. There is a well under the bridge, forming the Yaozhai landscape of "there is a bridge on the water, there is a well under the bridge, and there are people beside the well".
The existing main building of Sanmen Street Fengyu Bridge is the building of the Republic of China. In fact, the wind and rain bridge on the ancient river road plays a more important role in rest, shelter from rain and communication than traffic. Many bridges are just a small ditch, and a wooden bridge can solve the problem of crossing the river, but building a wind and rain bridge is more important for people to have a rest.
Jiangyong county chaotian Yufeng bridge
Chaotian Yufeng Bridge, located in Yansiying Village, Jiangyong County, is only a few hundred meters away from Guangxi. However, compared with Yufeng Bridge in Fuchuan, Guangxi, it looks shabby and disrepair, and Yufeng Bridge in Fuchuan has been completely repaired, and each bridge has monitoring facilities.
Chaotian Yufeng Bridge, like Wutian Yufeng Bridge, is an important relic of the ancient river road and still plays a role today. On this Yufeng Bridge with a history of hundreds of years, the ancient and vicissitudes are unobstructed.
Fuchuan Yaoyufeng Bridge Group
Included in the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units, there are 27 wind and rain bridges of the Yao nationality in Fuchuan, which are located in Chaodong Town (15), Chengbei Town (8), Mailing Town (3) and Shi Jia Town (1) in fuchuan yao autonomous county. Of course, there are more than 27 existing wind and rain bridges in Fuchuan. It is easy to find. Besides, there is a green barbell with a camera beside each storm bridge. Storm Bridge is also equipped with a camera. Although a little disappointed, the protective measures are well done.

Gao Qiao Yufeng Bridge, located in Gao Qiao Village, Mailing Town, spans a tributary of Mailing River. It was built in the tenth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (AD 1733). The tenon and mortise of the 24-column girder frame are combined to form a three-story roof, and the girder of 1 1.3 meters is particularly eye-catching. After sailing to Gao Qiao Village, I found this stormy bridge directly based on my experience in finding a bridge.
This is the wind and rain bridge on the ancient river road. In fact, in addition to the wind and rain bridges, there are various exquisite ancient bridges on the small river ancient road, including the stone arch bridge with unique tenon-mortise structure, Liang Shi bridge and Liang Shi bridge.
Hongjiang Bridge, a single arch stone bridge on the ancient river road, is located in the southern suburbs of Daoxian County and is the starting point of the ancient river road. Now it has been left in the wilderness, and almost no one cares. There is a railway not far away, and tourists sitting on the train probably don't know it. The place they passed was a traffic artery thousands of years ago. Business travelers set foot on this bridge and started their journey across Nanling.
There is a unique tenon-mortise structure of Liang Shi Bridge on the ancient Xiaohe Road, and there are no fewer than 10 existing bridges, which is a precious historical relic of the transition from wooden structure to stone structure in ancient China. The center of tenon-mortise structure of Liang Shi Bridge is Huigang Village, Jiangyong County.
What is tenon-mortise structure? Just look at the structure of this ancient stone bridge. There is an ancient road in Huigang village, and there are two tenon-mortise stone bridges that are said to be as early as the Song Dynasty, namely Hanlv Bridge and Sishang Bridge.
Temple Bridge is 100 meters upstream of Hanlv Bridge. The ancient stone bridge has collapsed with flagstones, and there are two sinks beside it. The ancient bridge between villages is little known, but it is the best proof of history.
Maiqiao and Wenchang Pavilion in Shanggantang Village, Jiangyong County are the landmark attractions of this famous ancient village in Hunan Province. Maiqiao is located on the ancient river road, and it is also one of the existing large stone arch bridges.
When visiting Shanggantang Village, basically no one will miss the buy buy Bridge, for fear that many people will miss the Shoulong Bridge at the other end. This Liang Shi Bridge with tenon-mortise structure hidden in the countryside has two outstanding features, one is the earliest Song Dynasty stone bridge discovered in Hunan, and the other is the representative work of tenon-mortise structure stone bridge.
After more than 2000 years of historical changes, most of the ancient roads no longer exist, but there are still many ancient bluestone roads in the mountains between Hunan and Guangxi. These ancient roads, in ancient villages, in wind and rain bridges, in fields, on roadsides. Things have changed, but the ancient road remains the same.
I think the most representative ancient road on the ancient river road is Shanggantang Village. Shanggantang Village is the seat of the county government in ancient Xiemu County, and it is also an important traffic post between Hunan and Guangxi. On the cliff wall of this ancient road, there are ancient cliff stone carvings. Although they are not long, they are very representative.
Niutangxia Qingshi Ancient Road is located near the snail well in Yansiying Village, Jiangyong County. If you don't look for it on purpose, you may miss it when you pass by.
This is an ancient bluestone road, which is a rare historical relic. If it weren't for the national monument standing next to it, probably not many people would know that it has been an important road between Hunan and Guangxi for hundreds of years.
In Yansiying Village, not far from the Qingshi Ancient Road in Niutangxia, there is also a national monument of Chashan Ancient Road, which is an ancient road from Yansiying Village in Hunan to Chashan Village in Guangxi.
Most of the ancient roads no longer exist, and a section of the ancient road facing the wind bridge is still intact, which may have been like hundreds of years ago.
Entering the Xiaohe Ancient Road into Chashan Village, Chaodong Town, Fuchuan, Guangxi, the whole ancient road passes through the village and is well preserved. During the peak season, business travel here is one of the most prosperous villages and towns on the ancient road.
Chashan is an important ancient road on the ancient river road. According to "Fuchuan County Records", "Baoqing people in Hunan (now Shaoyang City) like to enter Guangxi from Chashan Pass, mostly for business, with oil and salt, and some good workers to build houses for the local area". Now the ancient customs have been restored, reappearing the appearance of hundreds of years ago.
The most rare thing is that there is a signpost on the left side of the ancient road "Dang Arrow Monument", which reads "Go left to X Mountain Forest, go right to Yan Temple Camp", which is probably a rare signpost found on the ancient river road.
Fuxi Village, also located in Chaodong Town, is not as lively as Chashan Village, but it is also an ancient village that passes through Okawaji. The ancient road here is more regular and looks much smoother than Chashan Village.
In addition to ancient villages, on both sides of many wind and rain bridges, there is still a small river ancient road, which is a bluestone ancient road, located outside the Jinqiao wind and rain bridge in Fuxi Village and winding in the fields.
This is an ancient road in front of Yufeng Bridge in Yongji House, Weifeng Village, Chengbei Town. Only one person can cross it, across a large field.
It is particularly worth mentioning that Chuanyan, located in Huangjia, Shishi Village, Chengbei Town, is called "the first rock of Xiaohe Ancient Road". There are many caves beside the ancient road, but I'm afraid only this one can be opened to traffic.
This is a huge natural cave, passing through the rocks. In addition to a small river, there is actually a road, which can pass not only people but also cars.
This large cave is about 280 meters long, 80 meters high and 50 meters wide. It is the only road that the ancient river road must pass through in history. More than 20 kilometers to the north of Chuanyan is Xiemu County, which was founded in Ding Yuan six years ago (11years ago). There is a Xiemu Pass in Xiemu County, and the ancient road connecting Xiemu Pass passes through Chuanyan and flows downstream.
There are also many cliff carvings in the past dynasties in the cave entrance. The stone carvings on the huge stones in this river are called "road-building monuments", which record a road-building activity in Guangxu four years.
The ancient river road is like a pearl in Nanling. For more than two thousand years, it has connected the people between Hunan and Guangxi, and connected the Yangtze River and the Pearl River water system by land, which has played an important role in transportation.
Time has passed, and the wheel of history has abandoned this Millennium ancient road between Dupangling and Mengzhuling. National Highway 538 and Congratulatory Expressway shortened the journey that used to take several days to several hours. The traffic function of the ancient river road is not obvious, but there are many historical sites, unique natural scenery and simple folk customs here.
