In 2003, the Cultural Bureau of Kaohsiung Municipal Government openly recruited excellent manufacturers to carry out dog reform on the British Consulate, and continued to operate and manage after the reform. The Intercontinental Hanwang Hotel in Kaohsiung has obtained the right to operate the renovation.

September 2004: The Consulate reopened. And won the first place in the field of architecture "urban landscape garden metallurgy award".

Since 1986, the Kaohsiung Municipal Government began to study the restoration of the British Consulate, and in 1987, it was designated as a national second-class monument by the Ministry of Interior of Taiwan Province Province. At present, the interior of the consulate has been turned into Kaohsiung Museum of Historical Relics, which displays important historical materials such as dog fighting and modern history, Fengshan County old city model, historical photos and so on. The compartments in the consulate are divided into harbor view hall, seascape hall, Kaohsiung hall, Wenchuang store, exhibition hall A, exhibition hall B and prison maze. At present, the British Consulate is managed by the InterContinental Hotel Kaohsiung, and there is still a well-preserved ancient road on the south side of the Consulate. Kaohsiung Gushan Household Affairs Office has more than 400,000 visitors each year.
