Taolai River Ecological and Cultural Scenic Area is located in the southern urban area of Jiayuguan City, covering an area of 1.63 million square meters, mainly relying on the ecological environment improvement project of Jitao River. Taolai River, the first tributary of Heihe River, passes through Sunan Yugur Autonomous County, Jiayuguan City and Suzhou District of Jiuquan, and finally flows into Jinta Yuanyangchi Reservoir, which is an important surface water source in Jiajiu area.

Taolai River ecological environment improvement project is planned by Tsinghua University Planning and Design Institute and surveyed and designed by Shaanxi Water Conservancy and Electric Power Survey and Design Institute. Construction started in July of 20 10, and it was implemented in four phases, lasting three years, and was completed in June of 20 12. There is a luminous building in Ming and Qing dynasties on the south bank flood trough, with a construction area of 7500 square meters. The luminous building looks at Qilian in the south and Xiongguan in the back, giving a panoramic view of the new city. On the east side of Xinwen Bridge, in front of the luminous building, a large musical fountain and a water curtain movie were built. Nine main dams, one auxiliary dam 1 seat, seven falling dams1seat, four pumping stations, six hydrophilic platforms and eight kilometers of river regulation have been completed. Through flood control, water storage and greening, on the basis of ensuring flood control safety, this section will be built into a first-class ecological and cultural scenic spot with good ecology, beautiful environment and rich connotation. While implementing the river regulation project, unified planning and construction will be carried out on both sides of the river, and Nanhu Ecological and Cultural Park will be implemented in the west of Xinwen Bridge and the south bank of Taolai River. Deeply excavate the history and culture of Taolaijiang and Longwangtan, with a total area of 6.5438+0.2 million square meters, build artificial lakes of 26.5438+0.0 million square meters, and build wetland parks and ecological parking lots of 300,000 square meters.

The construction of Taolaijiang ecological and cultural scenic spot has improved the urban taste and living environment of Shinan District, and turned the once rocky beach into a beautiful scenic spot with beautiful scenery, harmonious people and water, blue sky and clear water, and snowy mountains and green land.
