Creation background
Lao She came to Shandong around 1930, and taught in cheeloo university of Jinan and Qingdao University of Shandong for seven years. He has a deep affection for Shandong, which is called his "second hometown". According to Lao She's wife Hu Jieqing, Lao She "often misses the years she spent in Shandong from marriage to the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression".
