During the Tang Dynasty, zhouxiang town was still a beach, facing the sea to the north and uninhabited. In the seventh year of Song Dynasty (1047), gutang was built in sections, and the Zhouxiang section was also built accordingly. From time to time, a group of Zhou immigrants from runan county, Henan Province came here to fish and cultivate, and they became villages after settling down in Tangnan. After the catch, marketing gradually flourished and became a market on the threshing floor side of salmon dishes. Because the surname Zhou was earlier, it was named "Zhouxiang". 1930, Zhouxiang was formally established as a town hall, which was designated as a local administrative agency. 1949 On May 24th, Zhouxiang was liberated and zhouxiang town People's Government was established. 1992 When the merger was cancelled, Yuncheng and Zhongjing Township merged into zhouxiang town. 200110/8 Hangzhou Bay Town merged with zhouxiang town to form a new zhouxiang town.

Zhouxiang has a long history, outstanding people, strong public awareness of business and a long history of business development. As early as the Republic of China, it became the "first town in Yaobei", with many shops and merchants. It is a distribution center for grain, cotton and salt, and enjoys the title of "Three White Markets".
