Shaying River generally refers to Ying River, which was called Shui Ying in ancient times. According to legend, it was named to commemorate Zheng Ren's welcoming Uncle Kao in the Spring and Autumn Period. Its main tributary is Shahe, so it is also called Shahe or Shaying River. Heying River is a tributary of Huaihe River. Originated in Songshan Mountain, Dengfeng County, Henan Province, it flows through Zhoukou City and Fuyang City, Anhui Province, and flows into the Huaihe River at Zhengyangguan (Mohekou, Yingshang County), the largest tributary of the Huaihe River.
The total length is 620 kilometers. The basin reaches the south dike of the Yellow River in the north, the Yihe River and Luohe River, tributaries of the Yellow River in the northwest, the Tangbai River basin of Hanshui River system in the southwest, the Hongru River, Guhe River and Herun River in the south, and the Wohe River and Xifei River system in the northeast.
