History of the 50th Army
As early as 1927, during the autumn harvest uprising, Mao Zedong stipulated "three disciplines and eight attentions" for soldiers, asking soldiers not to use the masses as needlework. The * * * Army is famous for its strict military discipline. Even in the Korean battlefield, Chinese people's Volunteer Army is famous for its strict military discipline.

The famous "Ice Sculpture Company" in the history of the Volunteers is represented by strict discipline. At that time, North Korea was experiencing extremely cold weather once in a hundred years, and the temperature plummeted to MINUS 40 degrees Celsius. However, most of the volunteers still wore thin clothes when they entered the DPRK, not to mention marching and fighting, not to mention basic warmth. After the battle of Changjin Lake, American troops fled to the rear. At that time, the Sixth Company of the 177 Regiment, the Second Company of the 180 Regiment, and the Fifth Regiment of the 242nd Regiment all received the task of sticking to the "Dead Eagle Ridge" position. Although it was already very cold at that time, the three heroic companies still carried the banner of holding their ground.

In order not to be discovered by the US military, the Sanlian Volunteers dared not make a fire to keep warm or cook, so they could only lie in ambush on the way to the retreat of the US military. When the American troops passed by the next day, they were shocked to find that there were volunteers lying in front, but when they approached, the volunteers did nothing. It was not until a soldier approached that they found that there were 125 volunteers lying neatly, and they were all frozen into ice sculptures. In such cold conditions, it is not easy to exercise outdoors, let alone wear thin clothes and stay outdoors all day. Under such difficult conditions, the volunteers remained unmoved and did not reveal their marching plans until their death, which is a model of strict military discipline.

In addition to law-abiding soldiers, there are also some black sheep in the volunteers. During the fourth campaign to resist US aggression and aid Korea, the 2nd Battalion of the 447th Regiment of the Volunteer Army149th Division defended in Baiyun Mountain. At that time, the enemy was the US Army's 3rd Infantry Division, which had a large number of advanced weapons such as artillery, tanks and airplanes, while the Volunteers were still uneven old weapons, and the strength of the two sides was very different. At that time, the deputy company commander of a company was very scared after seeing the advanced weapons of the US military. He was worried that the soldiers would suffer on the battlefield, so he gave up his position and returned to the camp with his men. The deputy company commander lied that his company had run out of ammunition, and he would only pay his own life if he continued to fight.

At that time, the battalion commander had just returned from the front line inspection. Knowing that the deputy company commander was afraid of American aircraft artillery, he immediately reported to the regiment political commissar, who then reported to the headquarters. Such a seemingly small problem, the headquarters directly instructed and decided to enforce battlefield discipline on the deputy company commander. A seemingly simple thing was carried out, and when the deputy company commander wanted to intercede, it was too late. Later, in front of cadres above the platoon level, the deputy company commander was directly executed.

Although this seems to be a trivial matter, only a company commander came back with troops to ask for support, but on the battlefield, military orders are like mountains. If you don't obey orders, it means that the battle deployment will be disrupted and the battle may fail because of a small matter. On the other hand, the deputy company commander lied about his military situation. He didn't dare to defend his position, because the other side had too much firepower, and he had to say that there was not enough ammunition. As everyone knows, a little news may influence the direction of normal war. Therefore, it is very necessary for this deputy company commander to enforce battlefield discipline. It can not only set an example for others and boost morale, but also maintain the strong command ability of volunteers.

Later, a platoon leader and deputy company commander of the 50 th Army of the Volunteers made the same mistake. When the war was very fierce, the company commander and deputy company commander were seriously injured, leaving only one platoon leader in the position to direct the battle. Jose platoon leader looked at the soldiers around him, and the enemy's indiscriminate bombing had frightened the platoon leader. Mu platoon leader led several people to escape quickly, but the volunteer soldiers were dissatisfied with the platoon leader's practice and returned to their positions to participate in the battle. The unprotected Mu platoon leader had to retreat to his position. Just when the soldiers asked him to direct the battle, Mu Paichang actually tore off the sign on his chest. This is surrender. The soldiers contacted the instructor, and after the battle, according to the order of the regimental headquarters, they disciplined the platoon leader Mu on the battlefield.

Discipline is the combat effectiveness of an army, what's more, under the situation that the enemy is strong and we are weak, it is possible to turn the situation around by obeying orders and not being afraid of sacrifice. From this perspective, it is precisely because of strict discipline that volunteers can win more with less.
