Brief introduction of Shangdang area
Shangdang is an ancient place name in southeastern Shanxi. Including Liao, Qin, Lu 'an, Zezhou and other places under the jurisdiction of Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty. That is to say, Yushe, Zuo Quan, Changzhi and Jincheng in the southeast of Jinzhong City today are highlands surrounded by mountains. After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, China was designated as thirty-six counties, and Shangdang County was established, and today's Zhangzi County was the seat of governance.
The early period included most areas east of Qinhe River in southeastern Shanxi. After the Han Dynasty, the scope gradually narrowed, and it was divided into Leping County (now southeast of Jinzhong), Jianxing County (now Jincheng) and Yining County. ? In the Northern Wei Dynasty, Leping County was changed to Yizhou (also known as Liaozhou, now in Yushe and Zuo Quan areas of Jinzhong City).
Jianxing County was changed from Northern Wei Dynasty to Jianzhou, Sui Dynasty to Zezhou, and Qing Yongzheng was changed to Zezhou in the sixth year. Yining County was changed to Qin Zhou in Sui Dynasty (now Qin County, Qinyuan County and Wuxiang County). The rest of Shangdang County was changed to Luzhou in Sui Dynasty, and was promoted to Lu 'an Prefecture (now Changzhi City) in the eighth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty.
At this point, Shangdang County evolved into different county capitals, and then Shangdang County, as a place name, ceased to exist after the Song Dynasty. Joining the party has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times, with high terrain and high risks.
There are mainly two great basin in the territory: Changzhi Basin and Jincheng Basin, bounded by mountains such as Danzhuling, Yangtoushan and Fajiusan (the traditional boundary mountain between Shandong and Ze provinces since ancient times). Di Ziqi's Textual Research on National Policy Place Names says that "the earth is extremely high, the sky is the party, so it is called the party", which means this.
