Shan County, formerly known as Shan Fu, belongs to Heze City, Shandong Province, located in the southwest corner of Shandong Province, at the junction of Lu Yu, Anhui and Su Sansheng, with east longitude115 48' ~16 24' and north latitude 34 34' ~ 34 56'. Shan county belongs to the alluvial plain of the Yellow River, and the south of the county borders on the old course of the Yellow River. The county is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, with the highest elevation of 59 meters and the lowest elevation of 39.5 meters.
