When I read some materials, I found that there were 18 Tibetan tribes living in Minxian and Lintan at the end of Yuan Dynasty, which were called "Xifan 18" or "Zhou Tao 18" in history books. These tribes are mentioned many times in Ming Taizu's records. According to records, in the first month of the fourth year of Hongwu, eighteen marshals in Xifan, governors of all ethnic groups, and former military and civilian marshals came to the DPRK, and were appointed as the principal and deputy thousand households of eighteen thousand households and deputy thousand households of Zhou Minfu, in charge of all ethnic groups. At the same time, they were given a lot of clothes, boots and socks. Later, these Tibetan defectors rebelled again, so Ming Taizu sent Mu Ying, a general looking for the West, to conquer them. The Record of Ming Taizu records: "Shu Duoer, Jaw Woods Dur, Abu Shang, three deputy envoys of the eighteen clans rebelled, and ordered Mu Ying, the general of Xiliang, to discuss it, according to the land of seven stops." Jin Chaoxing, the granddaddy of Jin in Lintan County, came with two younger brothers and followed Mu Ying.
Maybe that's the case. At that time, the Ming army gradually attacked, and Tibetan and other ethnic minorities retreated and migrated to further places. It turned out that the places where their eighteen tribes lived were occupied by the Ming army. Every time the Ming army conquered a place, it left troops to guard it. These troops belong to different generals. In order to show that they belong to different commanders or miss their commanders, the guards pushed their commanders to a very high position, and finally formed a worship of the gods. As a result of this war, the "Xifan Eighteen Departments" had no place in Tao Min and had to leave their homes, while the 18 plot they once occupied was stationed by a small unit of Taozhouwei's 18. Nature will build 18 temple to pay homage.
At present, there are many place names called flags in Tao Min, such as Zhao Desheng, Zhang Ziming and Chen Qi Township in Hancheng. Qi is the lowest establishment unit in the military system of Ming Dynasty hospitals, with more than 0/00 people per flag/kloc. At the same time, in a temple in Tongren County, Huangnan Prefecture, Qinghai Province, there was a letter written by the Ming Dynasty to the tribal leaders of Avari. One of them was sent to a tribal leader named Abu Shu, who was appointed as the commander-in-chief of Hezhou Wei, so that his descendants could inherit it and he must observe discipline and protect the people. This happened in August of the sixth year of Hongwu (1373). According to historical records, Zhou Taowei and Wei Minzhou left Hezhou Wei in 1379 and 1378 respectively. It can be seen that the Tibetan tribe where Hongwu lived for six years has now moved to Tongren County, Qinghai Province, hundreds of kilometers away. From one side, the relationship between "eighteen schools in Xifan" and "eighteen temples" is confirmed.
More than 600 years have passed, and the national struggle of that year has long since become a thing of the past. Only the green hills remain.
