The section from Ya 'an to Kangding is now a full expressway. If you need to see the scenery of Erlang Mountain, you can take the old road of National Highway 3 18, which is under maintenance. There are many trucks and the road conditions are complicated. Ordinary cars and commercial vehicles are not recommended.

Kangding-xinduqiao section needs to cross the mountainous area. The road surface is frozen in spring and summer, and the road surface is basically flat. It's asphalt pavement, with many vehicles and many bends.

Xinduqiao-Bunda section

If friends want to go to Daocheng Aden Scenic Area, please start from Litang, pass Tuer Mountain and Haizi Mountain (Xingyichong) to Daocheng, and pass Bowa Mountain to Zhiwa (Shangri-La Town). You can only take sightseeing bus to Aden Scenic Area.

The whole asphalt road from xinduqiao to Litang, the former Gaoersi Mountain, Scissors Bend Mountain and Toracca Mountain all take tunnels, but the asphalt road in Kazila Mountain is not a problem. On the way from Litang to Batang, you need to cross Haizi Mountain, and the road conditions are good. However, some roads are bumpy, and there are many tunnels and bends on the way. Attention should be paid to setting in rainy season and dark ice in winter. Batang-Zuogong section is paved with gravel, and the section crossing Jinsha River is paved with earth and stone. (Batang to Mangkang is paved all the way) The bend is narrow, and the road at the intersection of Sanjiang is narrow, making it difficult for trains to cross.
