Donglan belongs to Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China (PRC), and is located in the northwest of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located between east longitude 107 5'- 107 43' and north latitude 24 13'-24 5 1', on the southern edge of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and in the middle reaches of Hongshui River, with a total area of 246544. Donglan is located in the monsoon climate zone between the middle subtropical zone and the south subtropical zone.
As of 20 18, Donglan has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 8 townships, and the county government is located in Donglan town.
