First, the landlord class
1. Lin Zexu: China was the first person who opened his eyes to the world in modern times. He translated and introduced a large number of western works.
Wei Yuan: He compiled the Atlas of Sea Countries, and put forward the idea of "learning from foreigners to control foreigners", which had an impact on the traditional closed-door concept.
2. Westernization (Yi? Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, Zuo Zhidong): They advocate learning advanced production technology training methods from the West and building modern national defense. They played the slogan of "demanding wealth by themselves" and successively established a number of military and civilian industries. The Westernization Movement did not make China rich and strong in the end, but the first batch of modern industrial enterprises appeared in China, which objectively promoted the development of capitalism in China and the modernization of China.
Second, the bourgeoisie
1. Reformists (Kang Youwei, Liang Qichao): They put forward the idea of survival through reform, and launched a bourgeois top-down reform movement, the Reform Movement of 1898, in an attempt to establish a constitutional monarchy in China. In the end, the reform failed, but it played an enlightening role in society, and the voice of strong reform in society was growing.
2. Revolutionary (Sun Yat-sen): put forward the "Three People's Principles" and advocated overthrowing the feudal monarchy by force and establishing a bourgeois democratic republic. The Revolution of 1911 led by Sun Yat-sen finally ended more than two thousand years of feudal monarchy and established the Republic of China. The concept of a democratic Republic is more and more deeply rooted in people's hearts.
3. Advanced intellectuals (Chen Duxiu, Li Dazhao, Hu Shi, Lu Xun): Holding high the two banners of "democracy and science" and carrying out the new culture movement have stimulated the enthusiasm of young people to pursue new ideas, urged people to break through the shackles of feudal ideas, explored new ways to save the country and the people, and liberated people's minds.
Third, the proletariat
China * * *: Led the people of China to start the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal new-democratic revolution. The establishment of New China finally ended the shameful history of modern China. Since then, the people of China have stood up, and China has moved towards independence, freedom, democracy, unity and prosperity.
