Major historical events and time in late Tang Dynasty
Huang Chao Uprising refers to the peasant uprising led by the outlaw Huang Chao (now southwest of Heze City, Shandong Province) against the dark, corrupt and cruel rule of the Tang Dynasty government during the Tang Xizong period from the fifth year of Ganfu (AD 875) to the fourth year of Zhonghe (AD 884), which is the follow-up of Wang Xianzhi Uprising. Huang Chao Uprising was the longest-lasting, widest-spread and far-reaching war among the domestic revolutions in the late Tang Dynasty. The Huang Chao Rebellion lasted for 10 years, resulting in 8.3 million deaths, which led to the great decline of national strength in the late Tang Dynasty.
