The origin of Tangshan hemp candy
When I came back from home during the Spring Festival, I brought my colleagues a special product of Tangshan-sesame sugar. Everyone said it was delicious and I was very happy. But when I was asked what it was made of and why it was called sesame candy, I was silly. After eating for more than 20 years, I really don't know the answers to these questions, so in order to prove that I am from Tangshan, I specially checked some information and found a short story about the origin of sesame sugar! Tangshan sesame candy, shaped like a flower, is as thin as a cicada's wing, light yellow and transparent, crisp and soft, sweet and palatable, and has a long history and is famous far and near. Let's not sell it. Let's talk about this short story: in the fourth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, Mr. Zhang of Qishuzhuang in the county opened Guangsheng, specializing in honey and sesame sugar. Mr. Zhang was originally from Wangxihetou Village, Zhongli Township, Shenxian County, Jizhong County. Due to frequent floods, droughts and insect disasters, his life is extremely difficult. In order to make a living, Mr. Zhang fled to Feng Run in eastern Hebei with his wife and children and settled in Qishuzhuang. He has the ancestral skill of making cakes, so he makes some cakes every year, takes them with him to make some groceries and sells them in the village. After doing this for several years, I saved a few dollars and opened a small pastry shop to sell cakes. The cakes he makes are mainly ordinary forks and honey forks. These two kinds of forks have their own advantages and different textures. The former is hard and brittle, while the latter is soft. According to a customer's shop, Mr. Zhang made honey after repeated research and restructuring on the basis of two kinds of forks, and produced it exclusively under the name of "Guangsheng". After the Republic of China, an enlightened gentleman named Xu introduced Qishuyan honey to Tangshan, and set up a new company in Xinli Street, specializing in the production and sales of candy in the form of front factory and back shop, becoming a famous food brand in Tangshan. Sesame candy is made of excellent materials and exquisite workmanship. The main raw materials are fine white flour, ground sesame oil, soft sugar, high-quality honey, caramel and so on. The auxiliary materials are osmanthus fragrans, lemon and banana. When it is made, it goes through seven processes, such as kneading, rolling, rolling, chopping, twisting and frying. The food is crispy and sweet, with endless aftertaste.
