Wusong Road, built in 1856, is one of the earliest roads opened in Hongkou American Concession. 1863, officially named by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. A triangle food market was built at Tanggu intersection in the late Qing Dynasty. Later, the houses in Shikumen Lane were built on both sides. The vicinity of Wuchang Road was once the settlement of Guangdong immigrants. The area from Tanggu Road to Haining Road was once a concentrated residential area for Japanese expatriates, and many Japanese shops were opened. Broadway mansions (Shanghai Building) was built at the southern end of 1930.
