The Five Dynasties are sometimes called the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. It is generally believed that in the short period of 54 years from the destruction of the Tang Dynasty in Zhu Wen in 907 AD to the establishment of the Northern Song Dynasty in 960, the dynasties of Liang, Tang, Jin, Han and Friday appeared successively in the Central Plains, which were called the later Tang Dynasty, the later Jin Dynasty, the later Han Dynasty and the later Zhou Dynasty. At the same time, in addition to these five dynasties, there have been ten separatist regimes, namely, pre-Shu, post-Shu, Wu, Southern Tang, wuyue, Fujian, Chu, Southern Han, Nanping and Northern Han, which are five dynasties and ten countries in the history of China.
