Today, I share an oldest domestic car, not a red flag, not Shanghai, but Jiefang No.1 Automobile Factory. This is a truck, Jiefang CA 10!
At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, our technology was still quite backward, but there was a shortage of domestic transport vehicles, so we had to ask the Soviet Union for support. Until 1956, Changchun No.1 Automobile Factory was successfully developed, and the first truck rolled off the assembly line, which was Jiefang CA 10. Of course, most of this truck borrowed from Soviet technology, but it was the first car we developed and produced ourselves. It can be said that this is a car that has made China Auto from scratch! It's a car that witnessed the hard journey of building cars in China! CA 10, c stands for China, and a is a car (it is also said that c is Changchun and a is the first).
I was born in the mid-1980s, and my father was a truck driver. In the early 1990s, I was lucky enough to see and ride this model (it was too small at that time, I didn't know anything about the car, and I don't know if it had been redesigned several times. Looks very similar, and the front face is exactly the same shape). In the following years, with the continuous upgrading of trucks, such models were never seen in the freight yard again. In that era when there were few cars, I was impressed, curious and envious. We deeply know that at that time, a family with a driver was able to support the family, which is already a very proud thing; If you still have a truck at home, you can live a very good life. However, only when I have seen it with my own eyes can I know the hard work and fatigue of the truck driver.
Great changes have taken place in China in the past 20 years, and our life has been greatly improved. Vehicles have already entered ordinary families, and many families have realized the life of owning cars. As a tool for making a living, trucks are less and less compared with the number of cars used for riding. Because of my gratitude to my parents, because I know their hard work, the appearance of this truck has never disappeared in my mind. Therefore, I like car models and bought this small model specially.
From the design point of view, the air intake grille is composed of several horizontal bars, which is probably the simplest and easiest to make. At the same time, if you look carefully, the word "liberation" above the air intake grille is the name of this car.
Too lazy to check the data, and there is no body size of this car. From this point of view, the cargo box of this truck is very long, in order to hold more goods or carry people. In those days, it was also common to carry people in containers. According to the needs of the goods, some will cover the containers with tarpaulins (it looks a bit like a greenhouse for growing vegetables now)
At that time, Jiefang trucks were all military green. There are no other colors. On the one hand, there is only this color when producing. In addition, if you need to touch up the paint later, it is more convenient, that is, one color, so don't worry about color matching.
At that time, there were not many repair shops. It was not until the late 1990s that some roadside repair shops began to undertake some simple repairs, welding, tire patching and water filling. More is that the driver himself is a car mechanic, and many car failures are repaired by himself.
The bottom plate of the cargo box of this car is a big iron plate (I don't know if it will be a board at first), and the surrounding fence is a board. In the later period, the fence was replaced by iron.
The front bumper is a thick steel plate. I remember when I was a child, I used to climb up and step on this front bumper, jumping up and down without any shaking.
Note that both the front wheel and the rear wheel pay great attention to the width of the fender (or hub bag). At that time, the roads were mostly mountain roads, with dirt and dust, not so much. Ha ha.
At that time, such trucks were often transformed into vehicles for other purposes, the most common tanker we saw, and the sprinklers in the city.
This car model is a frameless door. It's different from a real car. The real car is a frame with manual lifting glass.
Looking at the front face of this truck now, it feels very unique. From the practical point of view at that time, such a narrow and thick front face design had a good line of sight and reduced the driver's blind spot to a greater extent.
First automobile factory. When I was a child, I didn't remember much about this. Maybe the words on the real car had already dropped.
In addition to the air intake grille, two exposed headlights on the front face are also a major feature of this model (Dongfeng trucks produced later no longer use this design). There are also two small lights on the wheels on both sides. From today's point of view, it should be that the turn signals are all position lights.
From this perspective, the container is really good, much wider than the front. Driving such a car requires higher technical requirements for the driver.
The top of the car is bare. I remember that some vehicles, which need to carry long goods, will load something like a luggage rack on the roof to protect the roof, and at the same time, they can also be temporarily loaded.
There is something strange about this truck. Unlike the current electronic ignition technology, the way of ignition at that time was to hold the "car key" (platinum ignition method, interested friends can go to Baidu to study, and I just found out the name), and it took a lot of effort to turn the engine to a certain speed to successfully start the vehicle.
In order to hold more goods and improve efficiency, the design of containers will be extended a lot.
This kind of truck was not a dump truck, and there was no forklift at that time. Therefore, manual loading and unloading are required. I remember every time I went to the coal yard to load coal with my father, I watched five or six workers in the coal yard load coal into the box bit by bit with shovels. Then it is transported to the place, and it has to be unloaded manually with a shovel.
Under the doors on both sides, there are thick pedals. Some are wooden boards and some are iron plates. At that time, if there were too many people sitting in the cab, one person could stand on the co-pilot side.
The front windshield of this car is unique and can be pushed outward (of course, the sealing is not very good and there is air leakage everywhere), and a wiper is installed on it. This can also increase the driver's perspective.
At the back of the truck, there is a big towing hook. At that time, such trucks often needed to carry trailers or Tuo Dou. In addition, there were fewer vehicles at that time, and if other vehicles failed, they could be towed away.
Spare tire The spare tire of this truck hangs here.
Put this baffle at the end of the container for easy loading and unloading.
Fuel tank. At that time, the fuel tank of the truck was exposed. I haven't checked the data, and I don't know how big the fuel tank is. But I know that trucks loaded with goods have high fuel consumption! (expected to reach 20-30L/ 100 km)
Due to the need to load goods weighing several tons or even more than ten tons, the car uses double rear wheels.
Finally, talk about the interior of the cab. Three steering wheels, very big. The shift lever is a long rod, similar to a crutch, haha. The handbrake is also very long.
The seat of this truck was designed by three people. The co-pilot and the main driver's seat are completely connected without any partition. A chair is one of those hard sofas. Because there is no partition in the middle, it is also very convenient as a temporary rest bed.
The backrest is stiff without any waist-folding design. It is uncomfortable to lean on it for a long time. However, I was very happy to be able to take the bus instead of walking.
This is the cab of this truck. No air conditioning, air leakage in winter, hot in summer. It is under such difficult conditions that our fathers supported a family with such a car and made contributions to the society in terms of transportation.
Now, we drive a comfortable car to work every day, enjoying the convenience brought by this elder. Pay tribute to the motherland with the shadow of this car! Pay tribute to the predecessors who have made great contributions to the automobile industry! Pay tribute to the hard-working dads!
