Sichuan has a vast territory, rich soil types and obvious vertical distribution. The plains and hills are mainly paddy soil, fluvo-aquic soil and purple soil, which are the main crop producing areas in the province. Most of the soils distributed in the plateau and mountainous areas are beneficial to the growth of different crops.
It is mainly distributed in the hilly areas below 800 meters above sea level in Sichuan Basin. Soil is rich in potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese and other elements, with low weathering degree, shallow soil development and high fertility, covering an area of about 6.5438+0.6 million square kilometers, making it one of the most widely distributed soils in Sichuan.
Extended data:
Purple soil can be divided into acid purple soil, neutral purple soil and calcareous purple soil.
1, acid purple soil is distributed in the south of the Yangtze River and the vast low hills of Sichuan Basin. The contents of soil organic matter and total nitrogen are relatively high, while the contents of phosphorus and potassium are slightly low. The soil is acidic, and the pH value is less than 5.5, which is lower in base saturation.
2. Neutral purple soil is mainly distributed in Sichuan and Yunnan, and the soil layer is thinner than acid purple soil, about 30 ~ 60cm. The content of calcium carbonate is less than 30g/kg, and the pH value is about 7.5. The fertility level is high, but the organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus are slightly insufficient.
3. Calcareous purple soil is mainly distributed in Sichuan Basin and central Yunnan, with loose soil, calcium carbonate content greater than 6%, soil organic matter around 10g/kg, low nitrogen and phosphorus content, serious shortage of zinc and boron, shallow soil layer and poor water-holding and drought resistance.
