Yuhang county is the birthplace of Liangzhu culture in the late Neolithic period and one of the earliest counties. With a long history, many celebrities and many scenic spots, it is a famous cultural relic country in the south of the Yangtze River. Ling Tong, a famous scholar, Liu Yuanjin, the leader of the peasant uprising in the late Sui Dynasty, Chu Wuliang, a scholar in the Tang Dynasty, a monk in the Five Dynasties, the ancestor of Fa Yanzong, Shen Kuo, a great scientist in the Song Dynasty, Zhong Huamin, a famous bibliophile in the Qing Dynasty, Lao Ge, Zhang Taiyan, a pioneer of modern democratic revolution, and He Sijing, a Marxist-Leninist jurist, were all from the county. Jingshan, a Buddhist holy place, Hong Xiao, Chaoshan and Yuhang Twin Towers, a famous Taoist cave, have attracted countless celebrity tourists. Later, Yuhang County withdrew from the county and set up a city to become Yuhang City, and later became Yuhang District of Hangzhou.
